I was introduced to Stop the Silence about a year ago and I instantly knew that this was one of the most genuine non-profits I had ever been exposed to. I recently volunteered for the 5k Race to Stop the Silence and it was an awesome event! It gave child sexual abuse survivors the opportunity to share their stories and build a safe platform for others to come out about their experiences is well. While the entire morning was overcast and rainy that did not put a damper on the number of volunteers or participants. Stop the Silence is by far one of the best and most necessary Health non-profits!
Stop the silence Stop Child Sexual Abuse is at the forfront of adressing the epidemic of child abuse and the shame that silences some of us survivors for decades. Raising awareness and changing CSA/rape to a talkable subject is the beginning of prevention. Silence protects the perpretrators and binds us to years of torment my own lasted 38 years. How I wish I'd found Pamela Pine back then my whole live would have been different. Her group needs global coverage her mission is that important not just to people like me but everybody needs to help stop the trauma and educate the masses so that so much harm can be prevented. I volunteered in Washington and I can't describe how nice it was for me to meet so many wholesome peole who wanted to make a difference for people like me who have suffered since the age of twelve from being raped. Now that I know someone cares and understands I can too. For the first time in my life I want to live thank goodness my two attempts at suicide failed. Having a group to connect with makes me not only want to live but I am also alive. I still cry when I think about what this group has done for me just by letting me volunteer and see the love that is real that comes out by the activities of Stop the Silence Stop Child Sexual Abuse.
