Results: We are currently taking 5% of the children, ages 6-12, in foster care in the United States to experience a week of camp in the cathedral of the outdoors.

Target demographics: Children, ages 6-12, that have experience abuse, abandonment or neglect.

Programs: Royal family kids, inc. (rfk) recruits, trains, supports and monitors indivudual churches throughout the united states and over the world to enable these churches to conduct a one-week, free summer camp, and a weekly mentoring and monthly club program. Both programs are for foster children in their community, ages 7 to 11, and both are operated in accordance with the rfk policies and procedures, which include specialized volunteer clearance and training. The camps have a counselor-to-camper ratio of 1 to 2. Over 7,300 foster children and more than 11,000 volunteers participated in 197 camps in 38 states and nine foreign countries in 2013. Approximately 92,000 foster children have participated in these camps since the organization's inception. Thirty-nine mentor and club programs operated in 10 states and in australia in 2013. Mentors were matched with over 690 children for four hours per month of one-on-one mentoring, with a successful completion rate of 91%. A total of 1223 adults participated in mentoring and in monthly club meetings during this school-year program. Camps and clubs/mentors are operated by christian churches representing 26 denominations. The objective is for each camper to also participate in school year rfk activities.

RFKC has impacted our community with hope and love. Over the last 20 years, a church in our community has sponsored a RFK Camp for children in the child protective services system. The foster children that attend RFK have been deeply transformed by the love, compassion and care provided through the excellent network of trained and committed RFK volunteers. This endeavor would not be possible without the leadership and vision of the parent organization, RFKC, Inc.

RFKC Inc. provides much more than a camping experience for 6-12 year old foster children. It provides leadership development and creates compassionate people that care for the "fatherless". My wife and I have served as volunteer counselors, staff and directors at a local RFKC. We have served as national trainers and as part of the core volunteer leadership at RFKC Inc national programs. We have invested our lives into the cayuse of RFKC Inc. due to their commitment to quality, best practices, safety and placing the children first in each decision.

RFKC is a top-tier organization and a pioneer in the field of faith-based services that change lives and transform communities. It is worthy of your highest level of support.

Royal Family KIDS is the nation's leading network of summer camps and mentoring programs for kids in foster care. We focus on children ages 6-12 and recruit, train and equip volunteers from around the world to stand up for children of abuse, abandonment and neglect. The program works very well and we have the track record to show for it!

Royal Family Kids Camp provides memories for children who have experienced abuse & neglect in their past. However, they knowingly allow wife abusers & child abusers to work as adult leadership over & again year after year. The national board of rfkc knowingly overlooks these offenses - sadly this is common in our society, but it needs to stop. Allowing criminals to work in any capacity in this type of work is dishonoring to the women and children who've been hurt by these predators.

This organization offers a great camp experience for children in difficult situations who often crave the positive adult attention and encouragement that they receive while at camp. I have helped host one of their events and have always been impressed by their dedication to the kids they serve. Also, they do a great job at finding enthusiastic volunteers of all ages with a heart to invest in the children they serve who often require a huge amount of attention and patience because of their varied home situations growing up.

This organization provides a wonderful camp experience, encouraging children who are in foster care.

The organization runs Criminal History Checks through the State Patrol. It would be to everyone's benefit to increase the level of education & accountability among the leadership & all those involved.

Those who work in this field know that child abusers don't get caught 'til they've hurt many many children and families. Those presented with allegations of abuse against someone should look beyond their own ability to discern and take seriously the information.

It's not that children & witnesses don't try to expose, the general fault lies in the fact that allegations are usually disregarded by the average person or community because most often abusers are skilled at creating a public image that makes others think they would never be any different in private than they are in public. Abusers are excellent liars and usually have spent quite some time hiding who they really are behind their public facade. Most are very believable.

Thank you for letting us know that you feel there is an un-safe person involved at your local camp. I completely understand you writing this anonymously, however, without a name or a local camp identity, I will not be able to look into this situation. Royal Family Kids' Camps is currently hosting 170 camps involving 7000 children and over 8000 adult volunteers. Each camp has strict policies about volunteers. A 4 page application with friend recommendations, a background (fingerprint) check, a 30 minute interview as well as 12 hours of training. We also have a two-deep rule active at all times around the children. No adult is ever allowed to be with a child in a one on one situation. Our primary concern is the safety and well being of the children we serve. Camp is safe and fun and that can only happen in a secure community of adult volunteers. I have personally contacted the person who posted these comments and have asked them to please identify the camp location, director or person(s) involved.
