As an animal lover, and a mom to 7 cats I used to worry about what would happen to my furbabies in the event of an emergency. I no longer have that worry about my furkids care since I live in Philadelphia, and Red Paw is here to help when needed.
I am a monthly donor and I follow their work on Facebook. My heart hurts when people have to leave their houses and pets because of fire ... but you ALWAYS see a Red Paw vehicle on the spot lending a helping hand to both people and their animals. The smiles on the peoples' and pets' faces when they are reunited actually brings tears to my eyes.
Thank God we have Red Paw in our area and I hope this program will be copied in other cities.
As an animal lover, I appreciate what Red Paw stands for and does. They understand the bond that we share with our furbabies and recognize that their welfare is important to us. If faced with an emergency where I have to evacuate my home, I am comforted knowing that Red Paw would be there to care for my babies until I can care for them again.
I've watched Red Paw grow, and I am amazed that they can do so much. I consider myself fortunate, that given a disaster Red Paw is here.
The concern for their pets that people have when they are in a shelter situation, or temporarily displaced from their home, is extreme when they have lost most material possessions. Red Paw is there and will go back and find the pet. The animals are cared for while their family is going through the process of being re-established in a most loving way. The folks at Red Paw provide the best medicine for those who are distraught about a tragedy.
Imagine what you would do if your house burned and your pets were missing? If you're lucky enough to live in the Philadelphia area, Red Paw would be there to help. They rescue, provide foster care, and - most importantly - reunite families with their pets. This is a 24-7, all-volunteer operation, which I am proud to support.
Red Paw is a great organization - these folks are so dedicated. I contribute to them every month. I only contribute to organizations I know will make the most of my hard earned money, so I don't just give to any group.
I think the Red Paw Emergency Relief Team is a great Organization! It is so good to see misplaced animals being taken care of and being placed in good homes. I am a donor and I know my donation has been put to great use.....every little bit of money can help.
As a volunteer with Red Cross, I saw first hand the tragedy of families who had to either leave their pets in the burned out house or decline lodging from Red Cross. What a joy that a Philadelphia Fire Fighter had the idea, and enormous amount of energy, to start up this fantastic organization. Warms my heart every time I see the story of one of the Red Paw animal/family reunions on FaceBook. Also, all the money I donate goes directly to the care of the animals entrusted to Red Paw. There are virtually no administrative costs!
