This organization has a board of local residents who have restored heritage homes in Berkeley, Oakland and Pleasanton. Board members have developed property in downtown Pleasanton and at least one board member is a recognized expert on the American Arts and Crafts movement as well a regular contributor to American Bungalow and Style 1900, two national magazines on the subject.
PHA's 200+ members and former members include a City Council Member and a recent City Council candidate.
This organization recognizes excellence in heritage home restoration and renovation with it's annual Heritage Award. Winners proudly display their bronze plaques on the fronts of their homes.
PHA regularly publishes a newsletter that offers tips for home restoration and links to sites that are useful for heritage homeowners.
