I never met a more caring, dedicated, and passionate group of people than I have at Pasado's Safe Haven. Everyone there from the management/administrative team to the farm hands loves the animal residents. It evident from the way they speak about them and how they treat them. Every animal is cherished and loved, no matter what. I want to spread the word to as many people as possible about this wonderful organization!

Amazing! I've visited several animal sanctuaries, including Farm Sanctuary and The Gentle Barn, and Pasado's Safe Haven vastly outshines them all in terms of animal care and teamwork.

Pasado's is amazing! 85 acres of beautiful rolling hills and well kept grounds and animal enclosures. This is what an animal sanctuary SHOULD be. It's lovely, peaceful and worth visiting. The drive is great
The animals were all well cared for, happy and even the ones who were more isolated due to temperament had a large open, clean kennel area to play in. You could tell right away as you entered each area, that the animals love the staff and volunteers too...even after they have come from such brutal beginnings, we didn't see more than a handful that we exhibiting any fear at all. A true testimate to the resilience of animals!
Way to go Pasado's! Keep up the great work!

**** SHADY ORGANIZATION****

Not so safe haven.!!

I feel so bad for the animals left at Pasados, they are total control freaks and the Executive Director Laura Henderson has NO animal background or experience to run an animal rescue facility PROPERLY! She cares more about looking good in the public eye and scrutinizing and browbeating people to be vegan then what's important like actual rescuing animals in need, adoptions and proper care of the animals.

**** Fraud, intimidation, trespassing - Pasado's has a long history of fraud. Fraudulent fundraising and fraudulent use of money. A long history of slander, bullying, intimidation and harassment. Why do you think the Attorney General keeps a close-full watch on them??

Do your research before you give this group money! It goes to the Executive Director Laura Henderson & Director of Rescue and Investigations Kim Koon's over inflated salary!!!

A lot of people HAVE had concerns about this place for a long time.
If people questioned them they would be told with a quickness Pasado's would sue them. Or better yet fire them if they were an employee wanting better care for the animals, Laura Henderson has done this on many occasions.

Laura Henderson hired a Victoria Secret retail employee who had no prior sanctuary, rescue or Animal Care Management experience to become the Animal Care Manager to oversee all animal care.

This person was responsible for a diabetic cat named Ian to receive Insulin at certain times or he would go into diabetic shock & have seizures, Ian under the Animal Care Manager's supposed supervision relapsed and almost died many times because of her not getting up in time to give Ian his insulin ! MANY caregivers came to Laura about concerns that the Animal Care Manager was not giving several animals their medications on time and or at all Chester the blind pony for example was supposed to get his medication yet, there were many occasions where he did not causing him to become sick and be in pain. Their outside Equine Vet who is very credible has these "Lack of care issues" written in her notes that she gives to Laura Henderson- The vet was very concerned that Chester was not getting his medicine and stated as such!!

**** 5 Animal Caregivers soon quit because of lack of animal care that fell on deaf ears thanks to Laura Henderson not having any animal care experience or knowledge.

**** Whalen the newborn calf that was brought in through Monroe Animal Control NEVER did see a vet while he was alive at Pasado's only after when he had already died- he rallied for 3 or 4 days suffering yet NO vet was ever provided!! Why??

Isn't Pasado's supposed to help animals?
After all isn't that why Pasado's even exists is to help animals?

Law enforcement and animal control in Snohomish Co. refuse to work with Pasado's due to their ineptness. There are plenty of other worthy and HONEST charities and rescues out there who would use your money wisely. This organizations is not one of them!!!

Do not support Pasado's they are money grubbing media whores. Not much of your donations go to the animals' ACTUAL care.

****The horse supplements have been cut out as the Executive Director Laura Henderson has no concept or knowledge of animal care and feels that's an expense that is not needed , all of the horses have issues so the supplements are NEEDED, their own outside equine vet has told the Executive Director -Laura Henderson that cutting out the supplements was a bad idea. While the rest go to the enormous salaries of the Executive Director-Laura Henderson and her inept Director of Rescue and Investigations- Kim Koon who couldn't catch a clue even if it was her own dog's name!

**** The Executive Director Laura Henderson & board President sent out emails to ALL employees & Volunteers that they had to write good reviews on guide star to boost the ratings and make Pasado's look good while burying the bad reviews. Isn't that fraudulent right there?? The so called "good" reviews are biased and written by staff, if they want to keep their jobs of course they will write good reviews.

**** The Executive Director- Laura Henderson won't pay for critical medical care of dogs older then 9 years old, she has a $300 dollar limit on older animals. Why take them & promise the Donors the animal's will get the best care in their last years, months or weeks?

I'm sure the DONORS have no idea of this going on !!

****They buy animals ( goats, pigs, fowl) for tours to fill up the yards to look good for donations instead of actually going out and rescuing animals in need. Yet they spin it as a rescue, it's pathetic, yet it's much easier for the Director of Rescue and Investigations Kim Koon to purchase an animal then do her job of actually investigating and taking animals out of dire situations.

Stay away from this organization it is shady and misuses funds!! Pasados's needs to be shut down and the animals rescued from this so called "safe haven

Years ago I found Pasados online by accident. It quickly became a place I wanted to visit in person! As a resident of Washington State I am thrilled a place like this exists here in my own back yard! I finally got to go attend one of the tours and was treated to a joy-filled afternoon of visits with the animals who are lucky enough to call the sanctuary home. Each and every person I met who was employed there was professional, friendly and had so much information to share. They shared the animals stories of rescue and recovery, they were compassionate and absolutely devoted to the welfare of animals everywhere. In the last several years I have called them for resources when I've seen or heard of abuse in my community and they call right back if you don't get them on the first call. They were willing to share whatever information they could help me with and never act like its an imposition. The facility is clean, the animals very happy and well taken care of. Its such a beautiful place and I cant thank them enough for their zero tolerance to animal abuse. They don't just say that - They embody that. They work for the animals and work very hard. From life saving help to educating the public, providing food and mobile spay/neuter services for low income pet owners *these folks never rest. I am so thankful for Pasados Safe Haven. ♥

I know one of the staff members of Pasado's Safe Haven personally, and cannot think of a better advocate for animals. There is an extremely high level of integrity and professionalism at Pasado's, or my friend would not work there.

14 years ago I had the opportunity to volunteer at Pasados Safe Haven with the veterinarian I was working for. Their care, compassion and concern for the well-being of the animals was exponential and impressed me then. They continue to do great work by advocating for animal welfare and to educate the public. Pasados has helped to fill a void that is badly needed, a mobile spay/neuter/vaccine service for people who cannot afford basic veterinary care for their pets. I believe in what they do.

Watching the work done by the members of Pasados is astounding. They care deeply for the neediest creatures on our planet. They do a vital service not just for the animals in their care but for humanity.

Pasado's is a great rescue and far exceeds my expectations. I would give it a 10 star if I could. It's unfortunate that Beaarthur hasn't had the same experience that I've had at Pasado's. I've had the pleasure of meeting Matt McNaughton, Stacie Martin, Joan Eads and Laura Henderson. Their hearts and minds are in the right place; none of these people are ruthless or not care about the animals. Regardless of previous employees, it's time to move on and continue the rescue work at this amazing sanctuary. Just because one employee leaves, doesn't mean we should discontinue the rescue. I can't take the exemployee or exvolunteer, Beaarthur, comments seriously because this toxic person is only hurting herself and the animals. Beaarthur continues to attempt to poison the well in various media ways and try to bring down Pasado's, which is just plain sad. So her good friends no longer work at Pasado's...that doesn't mean that Pasado's is doomed to fail or should stop rescuing. Beaarthur hopes Pasado's won't exist, and what a sad state of mind to be in. Pasado's started for reason and it continues its mission because of the public. The public, the donors and the people all over the country believe in Pasado's mission and work. And why wouldn't they? This rescue has placed numerous of abusers in jail, convicted and won many cases and has been a safe haven for thousands of animals. Everyone is welcome to tour the grounds and meet the animals. Life is about loving, caring, laughing, smiling, forgiving, helping, and more loving. Life is too short to try to bring the good down. Choose to help those who cannot help themselves (animals, children, the planet). Choose to be a positive influence, not a negative nelly. Choose love. We have one life to live---live it wisely. I choose to help rescue animals at Pasado's safe haven. It's worth it. Pasado's and its animals are inspirational. Come see for yourself and be apart of something awesome.

I recently learned about Pasado's in the media last week and was blown away by their activism and compassion. I followed their Facebook consistently for the donkey basketball game and so relieved that they cancelled it in Anacortes. I hated that game when my school had it in the 90s. The donkeys were not enjoying themselves. Thank you Pasado's for standing up and going against the norm. These donkey basketball games have gone on for TOO LONG! I continue to follow your Facebook page everyday and will be ready to write to the next school to cancel donkey basketball. I'm so impressed how much money Pasado's was able to raise in a small time for the food bank. Great job! Keep up the amazing work for these animals and informing the public about them.

Donate here it's worth the cause.

My students and I visited Pasado's Safe Haven twice in October and November for our Volunteer Service Day. The coordinator at Pasado's was very generous to let a second group tag along because their nonprofit organization backed out at the last minute. The 2nd group of kids wouldn't have had a Service Day if it wasn't for Pasado's. The kids had a blast while we scooped poop and cleaned pastures. Thank you Pasado's for the wonderful day! We will be back in January of 2014!

This organization is a joke. The BOD don't have a clue. The executive director is overpaid! She makes over 100k. that is insane! Why would they pay her that salary? She's not worth it! The other employees don't get paid even 1/3 of what she makes. They stopped rescuing animals and use donor dollars to pay the 100k salary employee. The head honchos Linda and Laura brag about being vegan but never jump in to rescue animals. Two faced. Sickening. This place is sadly not what it used to be. Wake up Pasado's. Put your money where your mouth is! Don't donate here!

I remember the story of Pasado and how Pasado's Safe Haven came to be. Pasado's Safe Haven has been a household name for many years. It is one of the few places that will take most any animal in need, saving them from cruel and inhumane conditions, treating their wounds, healing their spirits. They find homes for those who have been rehabilitated while others are allowed to live out the remainder of their lives at Pasado's. They work with the public and law enforcement to insure that those who abuse and neglect animals are prosecuted. They travel the country to assist in the rescue of animals in need during natural disasters, such as Hurricane Katrina. Pasado's Safe Haven is indeed an amazing organization.

I have been involved with Pasado's Safe Haven since 2005. They are an amazing organization that works tirelessly against animal cruelty. They rehabilitate and find forever homes for dog, cat, and farm animals; most arriving from abuse or neglect. It is so rewarding to watch an animal come in with the look of hopelessness in their eyes and watch them transform and learn to trust again.

I enjoyed attending the Fall Tour, learning about and taking photos of all the animals Pasado's helps, and seeing the sanctuary. I'm not vegan or even vegetarian, but I understand why they support that.

Excellent charity. I participated in the Starbucks team event and we had a work party here. It was the best team event I ever went to. I learned a lot about the animals and health and the history that Pasado's has in changing the animal cruelty laws on the tour. I wish I could volunteer here on a regular basis but I live too far.
