I had always heard good things about Operation Kindness and even donated occasionally but never realized what a truly amazing place it is until I finally visited the shelter in person—and was so impressed I signed up that same day to become a volunteer. The facility itself is beautiful -- bright, spacious, clean—and every process is designed with the animals' safety and comfort (both physical and emotional) top of mind. Most importantly, each dog and cat is treated as an individual, with love, kindness, patience and respect. Two years after my first visit, I've seen scores of pets find their forever homes, come to know many of the staff and volunteers personally, broadened my own knowledge of animal behavior and care, and even fostered multiple kittens—only "failing" (ie adopting) twice! To think of a shelter as a happy place might seem strange, but seeing the good work being done at Operation Kindness each and every day is truly spirit-lifting.

This is a top notch organization and they are saving lives in North Texas. I adopted my dog from Operation Kindness and I donate my money to this wonderful organization. Others should support them as well!

I was fortunate enough to foster this beauty for a few months until she found her forever home! Georgia had a rough start to her life as she was very sick when she arrived at the shelter. They took great care of her but she developed behavior issues. We decided together that she should go to a foster home where she could thrive and be herself. With hours of behavior training and suggestions provided by Operation Kindness, little Georgia calmed down and learned how to be around other cats. She found a perfect match and got adopted in February!

What started out as a temporary foster that was supposed to last just two weeks...a year later, Brittany is the best thing to happen to our family. Because of her "tortietude", she was considered quite the diva of the shelter. I remember visiting her at the shelter for a few months and walking into the cat room and saying "where's my girl?" and she would wake up, jump down and greet me at her door with a smile. I decided after talking to some of the staff that I would agree to give her some time outside the shelter for a couple of weeks. I fell in love on the way home from the shelter and never looked back. She loves my other cats, greets me and my husband at the door, and follows us everywhere. The loving staff at Operation Kindness always claims all animals as their "favorites" but I know Brittany really was. They always take extra time out of their day with each and every animal. They are truly filled with joy when a pet gets to go home with their family. They always go the extra mile and make each relationship personal. Thank you for taking such good care of my baby!

I adopted Bailey from Operation Kindness and it has been the best decision of my life. He was extremely socialized and well adjusted when I adopted him. He came from a puppy mill and Operation Kindness saved his life. Operation Kindness neutered him and gave him all his age appropriate shots. The staff and Volunteers were amazing and helpful. The facility was extremely clean. I would recommend this shelter to anyone looking to adopt a dog or cat. I am so impressed with Operation Kindness that I am not also a Donor and a Volunteer. Please support this wonderful organization. I am forever grateful to Operation Kindness!

Operation Kindness is the oldest and largest No Kill Shelter in Texas. They provide many services to help support the adoption of homeless pets of all kinds. They make a positive impact on animals lives and provide many services to support the community. Last week they had Santa Claus onsite for Christmas pictures with pets to raise funds to support their programs. This event was very well attended by the community and this is a great group of volunteers.
