I so much enjoy being a part of One Simple wish as many wishes of Foster Children can mean so much to them. Some wishes can help a student complete homework on their very own computer instead of being out late at night at the library or falling behind in their school work. I am touched by so many simple wishes that most of us take for granted. The need of clothes for school or a first job can be life changing. One Simple Wish makes sure the youth get their wish quickly and the staff are so nice to work with. Often Foster Kids leave their prior residence with little more than the clothes they are wearing. These kids need to know that someone cares about them enough to grant their wish. I have so much fun granting special wishes for some very deserving youth.
One Simple wish is one of the very best nonprofits that I have encountered and have had the honor to support. It is so overwhelming to be able to grant a wish of a child who needs something to make their life better. Many of the wishes help to get a child on the right path and help them make a better future for themselves by assisting in their goal of attending college. For the younger children, they just need a wish granted to help them have fun. All of the children no matter the age, simply want to know that someone cares and they are not forgotten. The staff is always available to answer questions; they are an awesome group of people. For a long time I have wanted to be involved in the lives of children and I find that One Simple Wish was exactly what I was looking for. I often recommend this nonprofit to others.
One Simple Wish is a beautiful organization!! Danielle Gletow's enthusiasm and passion for helping foster kids is incredibly heartwarming. I have watched this organization grow and touch so many lives over the passed several years. It continues to find new and wonderful ways to make these kids smile and feel important, and most importantly-not forgotten. Keep up the good work!!
My family and I have been wish granters for over 3 years. I absolutely love this organization! They have found a nich that works so well for both the children and those that want to help but feel they can't do much.
We have always had a soft spot for children but where hesitant to just give to big organizations not really knowing where our dollars where going. Here we know! I love being able to look at the list and so often some child's need pops and we know that's the one we need to Grant right now. ( of course we would love to grant them all but...)
So if your looking for an organization you can trust and know it is doing good things for these children this is the one. Not only do they Grant Wish's but they bring awareness to foster children and so much more!!!
New baby clothes, a trip to the movies, money for an school exam, dental x rays - these are some of the wishes my family and I have granted this past year through One Simple Wish. Since granting a wish is so personal, we feel connected to the recipient and like the idea that they know a specific person really cares for them. We have made it a family tradition to grant a wish in honor of my mom or for a friend's birthday. It is reassuring to know that the team at One Simple Wish is making sure that kids out there know someone thinks they are special.
One Simple Wish is that rare thing - a great idea, executed well. I heard of the charity through a friend, and immediately was struck by how smart and straightforward it was. You give directly to the people you want to help. There is no fuzziness about where your money goes. You choose how much to give and who to give it to and what it will be spent on. I've granted wishes for all kinds of recipients - children close in age to my own kids, young mothers in need, teens who are striving to get ahead. The website is well thought out and the whole process feels warm and personal. I give to a number of small charities on an ongoing basis, and I can't always give as much as I would like or help all those I would like to help. But when I give to One Simple Wish I always feel that what I give is well used.
I watched One Simple Wish on 'The Nate Berkus Show' and immediately knew this was a great charity...I was right! I know exactly who's wishes I am making come true and it makes for a much more personal experience for me. I can always imagine the smiles on the recipients' faces and that makes my day a lot brighter :D
This is a great organization. I granted a wish to a girl who wanted art supplies and after I did that I felt so happy. Just a little thing can make a big difference in a young persons life, and to me that is what One Simple Wish is all about. They want to help children who are in foster care or need help in anything.
The people who are apart of One Simple Wish are very nice and have a BIG heart.
Oh how I enjoyed granting wishes to such a motivated, child centered organization! It was nice to know exactly where my donation was headed, because you can select specific wishes that were made directly from the child in need. It was a simple, user friendly interface that makes charitable giving in confidence, even more endearing to the heart.
The heartfelt thank you and the knowledge that your gift is going to a trustworthy organization is enough to encourage you to give again and again! I highly recommend One Simple Wish for all your expressions of love and concern for humanity! Thank you.
One Simple Wish is a great organization. I've granted a few wishes over the past two years and find the site really easy to use. It's nice to read the stories of the foster children I'm helping and know where my money is going.
As a CASA volunteer, I know that foster kids often go without all sorts of things that we take for granted, but those things can have a big impact. When I first learned about One Simple Wish, I immediately told my CASA supervisor and she signed up as a community partner.
The story of one high school girl who would have to quit the track team if she didn't get new running shoes really stood out to me. What if being on the track team meant that she could get a college scholarship? If she were my daughter, I'd run right out and buy the shoes. I could not leave the One Simple Wish website without donating the cost of shoes for that child.
Danielle Gletow's passion for these kids shines through this entire organization and she's willing to do anything to help. She's a tremendous example of how one person can set kindness and compassion in motion.
