Hire them for screenings, they are the best! Very professional, and always show up not "on time," but BEFORE!
The Heart Institute is a wonderful group that truely cares about the state of one's health. We have had them at numerous health fairs. They are always professional, on-time...early actually, and have a pleasant way with employees, especially when they have to deliver "not so great" biometric news!
I would recommend this group of professionals to any "up and coming" business with an interest in Worksite Wellness.
They are a progressive institute with dynamic leadership.
I have had the benefit of seeing the workings of this organization up close, from clinical screening programs and community events to research projects and presentations. There is a true passion here to make a difference and improve people's lives by improving their heart health, by checking for related risk factors and focusing on prevention and detection, and by educating people on how to live a lifestyle that is good for their hearts. The dedication and efforts of this organization truly get at the HEART of the matter.
Miami Heart Research Institute, has always made themselves available to work with the public and govenment organizations.
I have first hand knowledge of working with this Institute. As a Firefighter/Paramedic for 18 years I have professionaly worked with many organizations to assist in public demotrations. In February all six local Fire Department in South Florida wanted to promote Heart Month. Not only did Miami Heart Research porvide materials but attended the event and had assited in coordinating media and demostrations.
This organization has been very supportive in the community.
I am an Assistant Professor at University of Miami. FHRI funded 2 projects in my lab. The funding was of tremendous help to carry cardiovascular research. I am so grateful to FHRI.
Our local EMS providers have truly appreciated the help volunteered by the Miami (Florida) Heart Research Institute in partnering with the fire departments on community health screenings, on developing a tracking system for cardiac arrest outcomes with local hospitals, and on providing the public with education on doing Chest Compression Only CPR for victims of cardiac arrest. Fire Rescue has worked very hard to provide the absolute best, latest and greatest treatments for sudden cardiac arrest to save as many victims as possible. The missing piece of the chain of survival in Miami, however, is the public, because our paramedics rarely find the public doing CPR: It is absolutely critical that anyone who witnesses a cardiac arrest knows to call 911 and to start chest compressions right away (no mouth-to-mouth breaths needed) to save a life! "Push Hard, Push Fast, JUST DO IT!" is the critical message to all.
My life has been touched by the great work of the Florida Heart Research Institute in two profound ways.
As a former health reporter for 24 years in Florida and now as a professional fundraiser, I have worked with the Florida Heart Research Institute in putting on important events that generate funding for their mission, which involves saving lives by finding new treatments and cures for heart disease, educating people on how to be heart healthy, and providing screenings and clinical trials that both catch problems and offer patients new hope beyond current standard treatments. Having worked with hundreds of organizations, I can tell you Florida Heart Research Institute stands out among the best of the best.
Furthermore, on a personal note, when my mother was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, her physician pulled me aside to tell me it was a deadly diagnosis. Back then, in the early 90’s, people with congestive heart failure had a 100 percent chance of dying within four years. And they faced a slow, debilitating demise. But thanks to the discoveries made by researchers at the Florida Heart Research Institute along with their colleagues, my mother lived a full, quite robust life for another ten years! Yes, the last 6 months were somewhat difficult, but when you are 96, that might be expected! Because of the findings and new treatments brought about through the clinical trials of Florida Heart Research Institute, just when the positive effect of a certain drug or treatment was wearing thin, her doctor was able to offer my mother a new drug that would revive her and give her quality of life for extended periods. I am forever grateful for the innovations the Florida Heart Research Institute has helped to bring about for patients just like my mother. I heartily endorse their foundation and the work they do to save and improve the quality of our lives.
I have been in the wellness field for 15 years. Miami Heart Research is one of the best in the Nation,
Miami Heart Research provides screening for chronic conditions to undeserved and vulnerable populations in Miami Dade County. They are an assest to the community in reducing health disparities.
We have used FHRI on numerous occasions for our clients - presentations, workshops and screenings. The staff is always very professional and knowledgeable. It makes our job so much easier. It is a pleasure to work with the staff and management. Thank you FHRI!
in the course of a free cardiovascular screening, i was discovered to have several serious risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The personnel at the Research Institute could not have been kinder or more helpful in educating me about my risk and in helping me to find appropriate treatment. In essence, they may have saved my life! (and they couldn't have been nicer about it)
Florida Heart is an amazing organization. They are committed to working with the community and are particular interested in finding "hard to reach" patients through outreach and education.
They have "mastered" the art of conducting health fairs in our community ... they work well with all groups and agencies in our community ... they are a reliable and awesome resource!
Everyone loves Florida Heart!
