Mission: Martha's Table's mission is to serve the needs of the less fortunate in our Washington, D.C. community through food, learning, recreational, and family support services by mobilizing, training, and teaching volunteers. We carry out this mission through three areas of service: Children and Youth Programs, Family Services, and Food Services, by: * Providing meals to the homeless at numerous sites and via numerous organizations throughout the city via our mobile soup kitchen, McKenna's Wagon, 365 days-a-year during lunch and dinner; * Providing tutorial, learning, and recreational programs throughout the year for approximately 300 at-risk children, ages 3 months to 18 years, in the Shaw and Columbia Heights neighborhoods; and * Offering family support services to our constituents, including a clothing distribution center, a daycare center, before- and after-school programming, and referrals and access to other community and government services.
Programs: Martha's Table feeds and educates low-income infants, toddlers, children and teens, ages 3 months to 18 years, with nutritious meals and supervised learning, literacy, and recreation activities in a safe environment, 365 days a year. McKenna's Wagon, our seven-days-a-week mobile soup kitchen, feeds the hungry and homeless at several locations in Washington, D.C. In addition, we provide free and low-cost clothing, toiletries, and housewares to our clients and the community through Martha's Outfitters, our redistribution center.
