Make A Difference is this amazing youth network that very clevely harnesses and uses youth potential to take off the tag "uneducated" from India. It motivates India's youngsters to go beyond charity and plant themselves amongst underpriviledged children to try and give them all the priviledges they need. English classes, career awareness activities, vibrant libraries, computer literacy and a lot more! When you volunteer with MAD, you're never the same again!
Mad for me is not service , its solace.... My new way of living and the way forward... made me realise that u dont need capes and tights to make a difference.
Make a Difference today is a success as it stands by its name and is responsible for making the right difference in the society. If one really wants to give back to the society and lend a helping hand, then please be a part of this well thought and operated youth organisation where we teach the underprivilege children English and computers in the most innovative way possible within a time frame. Being with Make A Difference ( one of the best decisions of my life ) has been truly enriching. The thought of meeting the kids, playing with them, helping them out, teaching them new things excites me........and today I can say I AM MAKING A DIFFERENCE..WE ARE MAD..We need self motivated volunteers who can take this to another level.
Its been 8 months since i have been working with my Team (MAD)Mangalore, which has given me a opportunity to see a SMILE on faces of KIDS from St Aloysious childrens home. Only goal is to keep on working towards making that SMILE last forever and ever and ever..........
MAD is a fantastic organisation which allows for those who are keen to help to actually get involved, in an easy and fun way. It looks at education from a more holistic perspective, and tailors its syllabus to be meaningful, fun and interactive i.e. REAL Learning and Life Skill Impartation for the kids. This I believe is what sets it apart from other NGO's. I truly believe that if we instill the MAD spirit in everyone, we can CHANGE India.

A organization, as the name states, set to Make A Difference by its set goals and precise thinking, each volunteers involvement, dedication and commitment.A well defined goal statement and mission to accomplish the same has made the organisation one of the best in its own way. Operation across the country despite all challanges and hurdles has made its way to everyones heart...A question each one has after joining MAD is, I have made a difference by being a part of it.. Have YOU???
Make A Difference is an initiative to nurture the lives of the underprivileged kids. Sending one's kid to school and paying for his education does not give him all the support that he may need. There are still some problems that are too challenging for his age. Without some amount of personal attention and guidance these problems could prove overwhelming for the young minds. And whatever be the amount of sunlight, nourishment or irrigation provided to a sapling, it can never grow beyond the boundaries set by the pot the sapling is planted in. What we need to do is to repot the sapling in a bigger pot, to be that parent to these kids that even their parents can not be even if they wish to be. The motive is to give these kids an environment common in the celebrated schools of the city, to give dreams to the eyes that have forgotten the very process of dreaming and to instill confidence in the souls that have lost faith in their very being. The initiative is not just about teaching language and computer skills. There is much more to it. MAD is my new way of living..It has transformed me too...
Make A Difference (MAD) has taught me the real meaning of being mad and has given me the confidence to dream for something which people often tend to forget. I have been a part of this NGO for almost 6 months or so and yea I have no doubts about the effort put in by the so called MADdies. The level of professionalism shown by the volunteers and the teams in different cities all over the country is simply commendable. My experience of being among the kids has been among the most satisfying and its true nothing can replace the happiness derived through teaching and being with these kids ever. My kids whenever I meet them are really happy and are more confident in meeting new people than they were before we started our classes for them. People believe me the feeling of being a MAD volunteer is something no one can estimate unless they themselves join this amazing organization.
Make a difference - as the name suggests, means instilling a change. Education is not yet considered a fundamental right in India. I still ruminate over days when I struggled to achieve excellence in education. Make a difference helps people like me who have dearth of opportunities to explore one's potential. To ensure that the youth understand the unexplored segment of the nation, I began with make a difference in Delhi. After 8 months in Delhi, the shelter home authorities have expressed gratiutde towards our team of volunteers for taking the first step towards educational liberty. Make a difference is undoubtedly the largest and most committed youth network of India. As Agha Khan states, In a world that is very rich, there are many who are very poor. MAD is about reaching these poor and help them achieve development in its true meaning. It is a change brought by the youth of today for the youth of tomorrow.
The thought of giving back to the society had been bothering me for long.. but how?? and what?? there were so many options available.. but somehow wasnt able to identify with a lot of them.. until i heard of MAD.. why MAD?? 1. the space that the organisation operates in. if we really want to uplift the underprivileged children from their current surroundings, then basic employable skills such as English, computers and personality development is necessary.. otherwise, despite being educated, they will continue to stay within the confines of similar reality 2. professionalism with which they are going about the job.. even a not-for-profit initiative requires a professional approach to make it effective.. the syllabus designed, the feedback mechanism, teacher training, workshops enable us to carry out our tasks effectively.. 3. scalability - i think the scalability of this operating model is huge.. all we require is a motivated volunteer base, and we are ready to start in a new shelter home, in a new city, in a new state.. there are no geogrpahic constraints in the scalability of MAD 4. youth - i truly believe in the power of youth to bring about changes.. and MAD is just that.. providing a platform to the youth to make a difference.. i could go on and on about it..
