I interact with members of MAD on a daily basis and have volunteered a few times in orphanages in Hyderabad(India). Make A Difference (MAD) doesn't provide funds to the underprivileged nor infrastructure for the homeless. It focuses on the core reason for long term development - Education. MAD does much more than just teach. It empowers! A MAD volunteer does not just impart subject knowledge but inculcates values, manners that go a long way in ensuring holistic development. Teaching kids in orphanages a simple "Please", "Thank you" in addition to computers and the internet is a start at forming a good personality. MAD's focus is simplistic and devoid of tall claims and unrealistic goals. They focus on what they do best - teach! and channel all their energy in this one area which in turn impacts a hundred others. The high energy atmosphere and whacky ideas during a MAD class session is infectious and inspiring. It brings out talent, creativity and a sense of self worth among the children not to mention the inexplicable satisfaction among us volunteers. Games, role-play interspersed with lessons on manners, etiquette and informative lessons on various subjects forms such a strong base for the development of a solid citizen. I find MAD's goals far reaching, their vision simple and their execution dynamic with a personal touch to it. They can be trusted and have a spotless record thanks to their foolproof system of accountability. "Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish, you feed him for life". MAD does exactly this.
Involved in their activities as a well-wisher for quite some time now and I find these youngsters' work really inspiring. If every youngster feels as responsible as this bunch for this country's future, India will definitely shine!
mad is doing a wonderful job.. Though im not directly associated to it, my sister is.. So im updated with all the MAD news.. They're super enthusiastic people who are ready a make a diff.:-)
NOT GENERAL, BUT THIS WAS A ONCE IN A LIFE EXPERIENCE FOR ME. SEEING THEM GO ABOUT, I WAS SURPRISED BY THE SPIRIT WITH WHICH THEY GO ABOUT THEIR TASKS.
I have a friend in MAD.....she's really actively involved...as are all you guys..kudos to all of u....keep up the good work....
MAD is a truly an inspiration. I am blown away by the amazing impact this organization has achieved in just a few years. It is a testament to the power of the human spirit that so many young volunteers from all around the nation unite through MAD, focused on one common cause. I join the thousands of children whose lives MAD has touched, in thanking the people of MAD who have become the change that they believe in.
I have nt been actively involved with Make a Difference but I have observed how they have brought about a change in the lives of the people that they work with. The volunteers are extremely dedicated and this reflects in their work. There is also a sense of happiness one obtains from working with the children. I am grateful to this organisation for its contribution to the society.
I visited the centres they teach in Cochin and was surprised to see the response of the kids. I also promoted MAD in my college
Haven't know MAD for a longer time, but by what I have seen them do has touched me. Infact it touches each and everyone who comes across MAD. They certainly are making a huge difference not only in the lives of those whom they help, but also difference is seen in the lives of those who help them- by way of their experience(s). The not only help the child in their study but recognize their strong points outside the book syllabus and then help them in that field, so that they excel in things they love doing and thus helping them better at those things.
Its a great organization doing some real good work by helping those kids. To devote yourself selflessly for the betterment of the underprivileged is the most noble thing one can do. So cheers to mad.
