I have been associated with Make a Difference for 4 months now as a volunteer. The thing that really gets me excited about Make a Difference is the energy level of the volunteers and the impact that the organization delivers in a child's life. Some of the activities conducted by the organization I wish I had such experiences as a kid. The transparency in operations and the family feel of the organization is something that I have not come across other organizations be it corporate or the non profit world.
Make a Difference concentrates mainly on providing English education to under-privileged children in orphanages. It is a very sound organisation at every level. Each and every person takes ownership and responsibility to make the difference his/herself. Every activity, every small change at each and every level is looked upon from one major angle -- WHAT IMPACT WILL THIS HAVE ON OUR KIDS ? Every mvoe is made to benefit them. Every small detail, every minute of this ngo is for the kids. I joined MAD in Aug-Sept 2012. MAD works at the core level...Kids. MAD is not a money-making organisation. Their main aim is to teach the kids and actually be with them. There are several organisations who claim to work towards similar causes but they fail to reach the core level, the very kids they are working for in such a skillful manner. Kids are benefiting in huge huge proportions with MAD. I am teaching Starters level kids and we discuss moral values and general chit-chat also. The kids are very bright and we teach each other. I am happy to find such a organisation. I wish more people would join hands in such a noble cause with such effective organisation.
Make A Difference is an amazing organisation. It has helped change the lives of hundreds of children across the country by providing them a Second Chance in their lives through basic English education. Not only that, it has also changed the lives of the volunteers who help in Making A Difference by making them believe that Second Chances are possible in everyone's life including theirs. I can say that MAD has given me my second chance in life and I'm thankful. Awesome Work! kudos.
Joining Make A Difference has been one of the good decisions I've made. Teaching here for two hours every weekend is altogether a different feeling. And the team is just amazing.. So hardworking and so helpful all the time. Its a great experience and I would definitely try to continue with MAD in future too.
Joining MAD was one of the best decisions of my life. It gave me a platform which allowed me to make a change to the existing problems of the society, and also I got to meet lot of awesome people from around the country. For me, it has been a life changing experience.
I always wanted to do something for orphan children and my searched stopped with 'Make A Difference'. MAD is the one platform which not only delivers the change in those lives but brings out a sea change in our (youth) lives as well. One of the best thing about the classes given at MAD is, the lessons are structured and delivered with activities, also the volunteers are given training for that. Today, It feels blessed to be with MAD and being a part of the impact we are bringing on many lives. MAD helped me to live my dream each and every day now ! There are no words to put those feeling on, when I see my kids dreaming, believing, Smiling and knowing that you are the reason behind it !!! :-)
This is the fourth year that I'm working with MAD as a volunteer. In my opinion, this is a one of a kind opportunity for young people who want to serve their communities. It gives us a terrific platform to reach out to children in need, and at the same time, space to innovate and develop ourselves as leaders. With every year with MAD, my commitment towards creating a better future for our children has only strengthened. This is one organisation that runs on the sheer will-power of a few individuals, who together, have managed to make a huge difference.. and will continue to do so for many, many years.
MAD helped me to fulfill one of the things which was on my '25 things to do before i die'- to provide basic education for a child, but now i'm not providing basic education for one child but i'm teaching 6 kids!!!soo bigggg thanks to MAD for 'Making a difference' in my life.how many organizations provide Cambridge University Press books for students under them?? so ya MAD is different and is working to 'Make a difference"
I found out about Make A Difference on the same day that I read about the lack of education in India and the necessity of teachers.M.A.D had come to college to make a recruitment presentation. What REALLY drew me to this organisation was how its volunteers managed to be excited and serious simultaneously. There was no mistaking the passion and commitment in the voice of the presenter who urged us to join. But it was also made clear that if we did join we would be expected to give our best! I've worked with M.A.D for over a year and a half now and there are several things that set it apart from other Non profits. The lessons are structured, the classes are taken seriously and the volunteers are trained for the work they do. M.A.D is constantly working at how to make their impact on the kids' lives and so they encourage volunteers who have innovative ideas. Personally, I know M.A.D has become a huge part of my life. I'm satisfied with the change I am creating and interested in working at creating more. I cherish being able to go around and tell people about how "my kids" are growing. And even more, I'm happy with how these challenges and responsibilities have made me grow!
Initially I was of the mindset that MAD is about teaching kids only. I hadn't gotten to the part of playing the role-model part...but one fine day this view underwent great change. I teach the girls children of the Muslim orphanage where MAD Lucknow provides support. The girl kids aren't allowed to step out there. They are taught , play and live within the four corners of the girls' quarter. But when they came to know that I was a Muslim and I do have the right to step out of my house and live a life of my own choosing, it was like a life-changing revelation for them and for me too, coz I didn't know of their state ! Soon we had a talk with the orphanage authorities and recently, we were able to convince and got the permission to take them out for various placement activity !! ... and I'm so proud that I could be a part of their first step towards freedom (in a sense) :) .. Yayyy !!
M.A.D is one place where one can prove the worth of a child that has been neglected. basic amenities, well all of us have it. But when it comes to having been inspired, given a chance to explore a much more stable and respectful options for career, and not to forget the importance of communication through English in the society, that is where u make a big difference in a shaping a child's life. And the smile on a child's face that makes my day, Wow.
Joining MAD has been one of the best decisions i have taken in my life. seeing the hard work MAD does for the kids in changing their lives cannot be expressed in words. working with MAD has not only developed me as a person, not only has enhanced my skills but has also filled me with even more love for kids, helping them, spending time with them and actually working for the kids for making their lives better and this feeling is just the best. i am so thankful to MAD. its the most wonderful thing that has happened to me. the team mates, the mentors are just perfect and so so friendly and that is one of the plus points. :D
Make a Difference is not just about teaching English to kids. It's something more than that.
It helps the children at risk in their overall growth as an individual and also motivates them to identify and achieve their dreams. Its been just 6 months that I've joined MAD and it already feels that I've been here for years. The way all the kids look forward to see you every week, their smiles, Its all AMAZING !! Here one truly feels that one is Making A Difference !! Go MAD !!
MAD is an organisation that is extremely professional in its working. The proceedings are immaculately planned. Since it is a youth organisation, the exuberance of the young make it more dynamic and proactive as compared to the others. The best part about MAD is its environment. It is like one big family. That drives you to work harder and work for the better. I have had an amazing experience with MAD.
The most wonderful thing in this world is to see a child smile; and even more wonderful is, knowing that YOU are the reason behind it.
There's nothing more gratifying than seeing the joy on the faces of the li'l ones, in whose lives I've made a difference. My extended family - MAD - has given me the platform to work for a social cause that has an impact on the young minds of our country. I believe, that MAD doesn't look at it's children as underprivileged. In fact, they strive to make sure that they receive the best education, incentives and exposure. I feel blessed to be a part of this altruistic organisation. It is for all those who dream big, wake up and make it happen!
I am a M.A.D teacher and I love to teach the kids who have an enthusiastic approach to studies! It is the most fulfilling job that I have done ever and it's even better because M.A.D is no money-making agenda but purely based on 'social service' and as the name suggests it's based entirely on giving and spreading smiles. Being in the M.A.D family is one of the awesomest things that has happened to me lately! =)
It's been just two months since I've joined MAD and I already feel as if I've been here for years! Ultimately, success and happiness are about being able to justify the way one has spent the day, while going to bed. It's also about the feeling one has while waking up in the morning. MAD gives me a purpose, it reassures me that all my education, the privilege of opportunity and the benefits that I've received have not been in vain. Here, one truly feels that one is making a difference. Come, join us and feel the magic!!!! Make A Difference :D
I am a part of MAD family from the past few months..and i enjoy each and every moment spend with the family as well as the kids. teaching centers are a whole new world...every weekend they would eagerly wait for us...the glittering happiness when they see us and when we hug and kiss them...its undefinable. The joy and satisfaction we get for the simple reason that we have taught them to read something or write a simple sentence..we feel important when we are with them..we dont address them as under privileged or orphans..we call them as our children...MAD is not an ordinary NGO its an awesome NGO ! for youngsters like us MAD is a platform to make a differnece! :) joining MAD is one of the best phase in my life..which would be treasured forever!
