To say that Make a Difference is a life changing experience, is but an under-statement, to say that its a way of life would be, ever so slightly, closer to the mark. To say that it changed my perspective of life, is but stating the obvious... Make a Difference, is an organisation, founded to teach English to Children at risk, thus, improving their prospects for the future.. Its beautiful how, the very same MAD, makes students out of teachers, teaching them from simple yet bountiful lessons in a smile, a hop, a skip and a jump, teaching us to delve into our depths, improving each and every one of us forever..

Without ‘Process Excellence’, excellence in results is not possible. I want to make a difference. And MAD has enabled me to do this. An organization that is well structured, works efficiently and works together as a team- what more can I ask! Every weekend when I go to teach, I don’t return without adding something to my values and skills. At MAD we focus on not just academic improvement but personality as a whole. Spending time with the children gives me so much happiness that cannot be put in words. We cater to the different needs of each child- being their friend, teacher and at times family too. I am extremely happy to be a part of the MAD family! :)

When I first went for the recruitment 3 years back without knowing much about MAD, I was not even sure if I wanted to teach. But then I decided to give it a shot and has been part of MAD ever since. It was not easy at first but every time I came close to giving up something happened that made me want to try again, sometimes something a fellow volunteer said or maybe something a kid did. Anyway I'm glad I stuck to it and today I believe in the cause because I have seen the difference.

Sunken faces, yellow eyes, malnutrition bodies are no big deals in India.
Even though people dying of hunger ad poverty is daily news, deep beneath us all we despise it and we want to end it but dont know how.
We blame it on politicians and corruption but deep inside we blame ourselves.
We question our luck for being born in a well off family and hide our helplessness with indifference.
Its not politics, food or money. Its us.

One day I got up with that realisation and got ready to Make A Difference. Ever since my life has never been the same. Never stop believing because Change begins with you!

It has been about 2 months since I have joined this organisation. It surely has a big mission to accomplish and the people involved are very determined in accomplishing this. The plans, targets and progress I have seen so far seem very very promising. It indeed has a long way to go to realize its dreams and with the people and their energy currently in this organisation, it will definitely hit the pinnacle!!!

How hard could teaching English to eight children possibly be?! Make A Difference has an intensive selection process, that ensures that they select the best teachers for their students and teachers who can be role models as well; something that all educational institutions to should consider doing, in order to realize the potential in every child! I've been teaching at MAD, for the past 2 years, and it's without a doubt the best thing that could ever have happened to me! The organization is in itself so well structured that it redefines what volunteerism is and ensures that every volunteer is driven and passionate about the cause. The fist time that I entered a shelter home and interacted with the children there, I knew I would never quit on this. Being in college did make it slightly challenging, to be able to balance both together, but the things I learn at MAD, I could quite possibly learn nowhere else and to be able to see the impact of my efforts on the children I teach is the best feeling in the world! :) Once MAD, always MAD!

I never knew that a single decision could change one's perspective towards life. After joining Make A Difference, I realized there's so much more to life. It opened to me a whole new world. I realized what exists beyond this little bubble I live in. It taps the potential of the young-the urge of the youth to initiate change. They are innovators, they initiate change at the grass-root level and in such amazing ways I can't explain! I am a Library Project Volunteer and I look forward to my weekly classes. It's an enriching and enlightening experience not only teaching the kids but also conversing with them about their daily routine, their experiences, their perspectives, their dreams and aspirations. It enables me to believe that I can bring about a difference in the lives of these kids and for sure we do! When you give a child a book, you hand them a whole new world of experiences and feelings. I have the power to change someone's life for good now and I am grateful to MAD for it!!

Make A Difference has made me realise how difficult and important a role of teacher is. There are people for whom fate has made worst plans. The onus is upon us to correct it. My org does that.

I wish to share my first day experience at one of our shelter homes. When I was preparing for the class during Zero Hour (an hour dedicated for class preparation), I felt that taking class would be very easy. But when I started taking the class, I actually realized its not going to be that easy. I realized that the most important aspect of teaching poor kids is lifting there confidence and motivation levels. Now whenever I take my class I make sure that I boost up their confidence. This is how I make difference to their lives.

the organization empowers the kids through education. by teaching, even the volunteers learn a lot. they acquire leadership qualities in them in MAD. Regarding the kids, they use basic english to communicate after joining MAD who don't even know to spell their own name in english before joining MAD.

MAD is where we teach, we learn, we grow!! we help the society to be a better place to live by just contributing a small part of our time in something that is fun and soul-moving!! and the best thing is here the volunteers are recruited and not just taken randomly!! its because we are so serious about the quality of education we provide to the under-privileged but curious children!! its time..we need to Make A Difference!! :)

Make A Difference is a youth centered organization that connects with under privileged kids by teaching them the most necessary skill required to survive in this competitive world-English.I'm a volunteer at MAD and it definitely has changed me and made me more sensitive towards the less fortunate. Teaching the kids, watching their 'maasoom' eyes look up with a thousand questions, their easy smiles and hugs is an experience no other can match. I'm glad to be a part of MAD and i can say without a doubt its probably one of the most transparent organization. And yes, one of a kind. Its not just about teaching. Its about MAKING A DIFFERENCE. Kudos to MAD! :)

I'm a part of MAD and this probably is the best thing that has happened to me! It is allowing me to do that little bit for the children who need us. It concentrates on English and all the other basic necessities that these children need in the globally challenging world. So yes, all my support to this meaningful, structured and enthusiastic organisation that I'm more than glad to be a part of.

As the name suggests, it totally makes and brings a major difference in the lives of children at risk and also people like us who have never been ambitious about studies but doing something social. doing something like this. Its an extremely professional organisation who work to empower such kids besides educating them. I'm sure we're creating a huge difference in their life and IF you join HANDS we promise to create a major Difference in your life too. Well isn't it all about Making A Difference in the first place? :)
