Mission: Links for life's mission is to provide an organization to benefit persons and families affected by breast cancer, to challenge each kern county woman to be aware of her breast health, promote support for those affected and to educate the general public about breast health.
Programs: To promote breast cancer awareness and provide services to women coping with cancer. Links for life fields over 4,000 calls regardings questions related to breast cancer, provides wigs, bras/prothesis, arranges mammograms, ultrasounds, and needle biopsies. The organization maintains a library to provide access to reference books, videos, and other materials to promote positive thinking which is essential to better health and living. Providing support to women and reaching out to the community through support groups, seminars, and health fairs.
our free mammogram program runs yearlong. We provide mammograms and ultrasounds for women who are currently uninsured or underinsured by a private health plan and are under the age of 40. Needle biopsies are underwritten for women under the age of 40 who have a suspicious mass and are in need of a conclusive diagnosis
missing link boutique empowers women with hair loss to regain self-respect and strength to deal with hair loss. Projecting a look of health and well being is essential for the positive response of your immune system. While the loss of hair is a positive indication that chemotherapy or radiation is working, it can still be difficult to deal with. Missing link boutique has an assortment of hats, scarves and turbans that can be comfortable to wear for any occasion. Our boutique is a warm, cozy place for women to feel comfortable while selecting a wig and trying out other wraps and options for their needs.
