I am making a donation in memory of a good friend that was a Director of Special Needs. He was the director of our State Support team. This gift to Lindsey's Place is to be used for the children with special needs. Brad had a true heart for children that needed educational help, representation, or just giving his advise of how to better serve the children.
This is my gift to my administrator, who had a unique friendship with Brad. He was her educational advisor, co-worker, and a special friend that made him a special member of her family.
Brad will be forever in our hearts. What a wonderful way to remember Brad!
Please continue your wonderful work for those in our society who are less privileged than others as far as mobility and cognitive awareness. Lindseys Place is OUTSTANDING!!
Lindsey's Place offers a fun and loving environment for young adults with special needs where they can embrace their individuality and be themselves. I think its a wonderful organization. The staff and the directors are doing this because they love it - and you can see the heart and care that is put into everything they do.
There is no other place for children with special needs in the Southeastern U.S. That is a BIG reason I donate to this non-profit!
Review from Guidestar
I endorse Lindsey's Place as a learning and nurturing environment for individuals who have so much to give. It's a place for them to learn to ignore the limitations placed on them by others - to develop and explore their own potential. A place for fun and companionship; for dares and successes. The staff encourage independence and self-determination - two of the greatest gifts we can offer one another.
The people at Linsey's place are extremely dedicated and put forth an amazing effort for the children that they help. I can think of no better cause than the children with special needs and I feel that Lindsey's place is a shining example of what can be accomplished when great people get behind a great cause!
Lindsey's Place is an excellent venue for kids with disabilities to be themselves in a normal environment. All these kids want is acceptance, and Lindsey's place provides that opportuinity. Lindsey's Place creates an environment of warmth and love, and that is the exact prescription for its kids!
Lindsey's Place gives so much more than a place- it provides a sense of belonging, gives people who have disabilities a place where they don't feel different from everyone else. Those feelings can last forever, not just while they are at the camp.
Lindsey's Place has been having fundraisers, trying to raise enough money to have a permanent site that has all the things that they have dreamt of for the wonderful people that attend these camps. The people involved have such a giving heart, and I hope they can raise enough money to have a huge place for children and young adults with disabilities. Everyone deserves a sense of belonging, and of purpose and with the right equipment they can make it possible for the campers to have fun and exercise at the same time.
Lindsey's Place is a great place for children and young adults with special needs to go to have fun, make new friends and create wonderful memories.
I donate to Lindsey's Place because it allows children and young adults with special needs the opportunity to experience camp as other children do, have fun, develop relationships and friendships and learn in a caring and loving environment.
lindsey's place is a fantastic organization that makes a difference in people's lives and was created and is run by people who have their hearts and minds in the right place. i'm proud to have been a donor and will continue to support their efforts
Lindsey's Place is a terrific place for young people with disabilities, the dedicated staff are working to build a camp that will give those young people a chance to learn, grow and have fun.
I met Kara Billingham a few years ago, she was talking about Lindsey's Place and about the camp, about all the beautiful people that share her life. As she spoke I wanted to know more about the camp and all about the children/adults that attend. She spoke with such compassion, full of love for everyone that attended. The gift she and her husband have are very unique and strong. Her children look at these young adults as just people, they don't see the disabilities. How wonderful to raise your children to see such beauty and innocence. So many people in this world see a disabled or mentally disabled person they close their eyes or turn away. Why? don't they want the same things we do? Don't the disabled have that right to have a smile on their face, to have a life???????????? I went to see the Camp this past summer with my husband and I found the facility was beautiful. I saw staff playing, talking, swimming. The care I saw was unbelieveable the quality of care was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw HAPPINESS in each and every client.
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kara and her Husband are doing such a wonderful job to give these people a chance to have what we take for granted everyday. I support Kara for Lindsey's Place as much as I can because these kids/adults need to feel whole they need to experience what a normal child /teenager/adult do. Prom night, bingo, swimming,
yoga, music, plays should i go on? This is what i saw at the camp and my heart grew full of admiration. Lindsey's Place will no doubt be the most warmest, loving, well cared facility. Please help them conquer this journey.
