There needs to be more organizations like Lindsey's Place. Alot of us who don't have a disability take alot of things in life for granted. Kara is a dear friend of mine and a godsend. It's people like her and her colleagues who make this world a better place. They don't get the recognition or funding that they deserve.

I had heard about Lindsey's place through the father of the founder and since then have followed its progress. It does my heart good to see the amount of dedication the founders have and to hear the stories of the lives they have touched. These are people with a true dedication and a spirit that brings light to those around them. Their dedication and selflessness is inspiring.
My cousin Lindsey has been an inspiration to me from the time she was born. Though she is unable to many of the simple tasks that most of us take for granted, she has never let that break her spirit. She is someone who loves painting, her family, friends, getting her hair done, going to weddings and other fun events, being an aunt, eating, reading, golf cart rides, the movies, and listening to music. The one thing I remember when we were growing up is that she loved going to camp. It was a place where she could see old friends, attend fun dances, and do tons of wonderful, enriching activities. The only problem with the camp was distance, since it was in New York and she was in Savannah, GA. There are many children with disabilities, like Lindsey, who have no place to go. That is why Lindsey's Place was born. Why shouldn't people with special needs have a place to go for a few weeks where they are of the majority and not the minority? This is a place where so many can go and feel like they are "home". Where they can forget, even for the smallest moment, all of the challenges that face them in their day to day lives. It is a place where they can laugh, dance, swim, run (even if they are being pushed in a wheelchair), paint, draw, play, and so much more. I am so honored to have Lindsey as my cousin. She is an amazing individual with an unbreakable and contagious spirit. When you are around her you can't help but smile. I am so thankful that she, and others with disabilities, will now have a wonderful place to go. Something they can look forward to and get excited about. Lindsey's Place is so much more than a camp. It is a place where everyone is accepted, no matter what. A place where everyone belongs in a world that can sometimes make them feel like they don't.
I totally support the vision of Lindseys Place. This marvelous organization is doing so much for youth with disabling challenges. It is wonderful that these kids are able to experience the same kind of fun and comraderie that others without these challenges do.
After hearing about Lindseys Place, I feel that this is a wonderful & much needed facility for disabled youths. The organization is very sincere about helping these young people & I give it my full support.
I was lucky enough to spend a day at the Southampton Fresh Air Home this summer with Kara and family, and witness the amazing things they do for these special needs kids. It is a happy, warm, and loving environment. A place where they can explore many interests, meet new people and form precious friendships.
I watched as the counselors brought the kids into the pool and played games with them. I have never seen so many delighted faces all in one place. The kids had a grand time and the counselors were wonderful with them.
I know how much Lindsey's Place means to Kara and David, and can see the hard work, time, and most of all love that they pour into it. What a wonderful world we would live in if we all gave of ourselves the way they give to these kids.
Although I have not been to Lindsey's Place, I'm absolutely certain that there is just as much love there as there is in the Southampton home. This is an incredibly important place that we all need to support.
I was one of Lindsey's counselors years ago at the Southampton Fresh Air Home. I actually flew with her back to Georgia after one of the camp sessions, so I understand the need for places like this in the all over the U.S. This organization is desperately needed for those with special needs. There are not enough places that can care for people with serious disabilities while making sure they get to live life to the fullest. When I worked at SFAH, it was life-changing to see the smiles on those kids faces. To see them become more independent and have so much fun without being treating differently because of their disability... it blew my mind so see such JOY. Because of that organization and the people who founded Lindsey's Place, I am in graduate school for rehabilitation counseling so one day I can contribute to the quality of life for those with disabilities. I fully support Lindsey's Place and it's intentions. This organization WILL improve the lives of the participants and the people who work there.

As someone who has a physically disabled sibling, I know what a difference a place like Lindsey's Place can make in that individual's life. I have met and worked with Lindsey many years ago. I can only imagine that Lindsey's Place is a dream come true for her and those who know her. However, more than that it is a dream come true for all those individuals who get to be a part of and experience Lindsey's Place. There should definitely be more organizations like this, to improve the quality of life of physically disabled, and to give them the ability to experience and to create memories that last a lifetime.

This is a wonderful organization that gives children and their families memories to last a lifetime! I never had the chance to go to camp as a kid, but I knew plenty of kids who went to camp every year. It's truly is a great opportunity for a child. There should be more organizations like these!

The world needs more organizations like Lindsey's Place, to help guide and assist children and young adults grow. They have truly created an atmosphere where they can be free to be who they are in a non judgmental, accepting and caring environment.
I've never seen Lindsey's Place but I've seen and worked with people with disabilities who ache for inclusion.
All people need to be celebrated and honored for who they are and how their unique spirits can and do change the world in which we live. By giving children with special needs a chance to explore and delight in life, we teach them and those around them to value who they are and what they can do.
Lindsey's Place is a place that cherishes and celebrates children with special needs. The children need Lindsey's Place. All of us need Lindsey's Place to remind us just how special each and every one of us really is.
Without Lindsey's Place in Georgia, special needs children would have to travel beyond their travel means. Thanks to Lindsey's Place, these special needs individuals have a place to go to relax, be themselves and have a great time. Seeing the pictures, hearing the stories and watching them have a great time, touches my heart and I know it makes them feel wonderful. That is something they will carry with them forever, it is something that keeps them smiling, which in turn puts a smile on their parents face and everyone watching. It is all because of Lindsey's Place and their special volunteers and founders.
Lindsey's Place is awesome!! Being that both of my brothers are disabled it is so important that they have a place for them to be themselves with others that are just like them. God Bless the People at Lindsey' Place for all the unselfish work that they do.
What a great organization who gives our children a chance to have fun, laugh, smile and enjoy life's great gifts that we so take for granted. These children depend on us ... so OMG what are we waiting for ... to give a donation, a moment of your time, or a special wish .... those are gifts, all that will keep on giving. Thank you Lindsey's Place for all that you do!!!
There should be more places like this all over the US. People helping people is something we can all afford to do!!
