An amazing Refuge. A place where four legged friends great and small receive a permanent home or a second chance at finding a forever home.
My sister's sweet kitten with feline leukemia had to be removed from the other house cats in her home.
Rikki's provided a permanent home for this little kitten. We will be forever grateful.
I'm an assistant in a special ed class and we take kids out to Rikki's Refuge during the school year. We've been doing this for years. The kids get to interact with the animals, and to do useful things like helping to clean up that gives them a lot of self respect. We have emotionally, intellectually and physically challenged kids ... and it's really wonderful to see them grown and learn and to feel so appreciated at Rikki's Refuge. Knowing many of the animals had sad stories too gives the kids something to relate to and it helps them open up and talk out some problems. Rikki's has given us a wonderful opportunity to help hundreds of kids over the years. They may be there for the animals .... but they really help the people too.
Rikki's Refuge saved my family. When mom died, dad had to go to assisted living. They had lots of animals, cats, dogs, goats, pigs. None of us kids could keep them cuz we didn't have land and you can't put those kind of animals in apartments. We had to sell dad's little farm to pay the expenses and he begged us not to sell his animals to market. I spent days and days trying to figure out what to do with those pets. And I found Rikki's Refuge. I was so amazed when they helped us and they gave the animals home and now the animals can live there for ever and ever -- they never kill them. I go on tours when I come to visit dad and I get pictures of his favorite old pets to show him. It makes him so happy. I think he might of died too if we'd had to sell his animals at the livestock market. Thank you Rikki's Refuge for saving those animals and saving all of us from watching our dad die of grief.
Rikki's Refuge stepped in to save a kitty that was abused and neglected by its owner. Rikki's took all the responsibility to make sure this kitty is safe and would find a loving home. I happen to see the post on Facebook and Rikki's made all things possible with the help of the volunteers involved. The kitty is safe now. Very well taken care of and since day one, she touched our hearts and our home is her new forever home. I will be forever grateful to Rikki's for the unconditional love they are giving these pets and animals everyday of their lives.
I don't know what Orange County would do for their furry friends if it was not for our wonderful friends at Rikki's Refuge, I have trapped many felines and most of them went to Rikki's Refuge, thank God for this wonderful place for all types of animals but they do need help to feed and take care or them so please donate what you can.
Rikki's Refuge took in my 3 cows from Massachusetts when no other sanctuary had room. My 3 "girls" lived their for several years until each one passed on to Rainbow Bridge. Rikki's took care of them when our land became unsuitable for them to have a quality life. I will forever be grateful to Kerry and Rikki's Refuge. We fenced 10 acres for them to roam and enjoy their time. LuluBelle, Sweet Pea, and India will be in my heart forever. I love you girls. Thank you Rikki"s.
Rikki's is one of the few rescues that takes in all animals. I was looking for a home for a minature horse that was owned by a kill buyer. Rikki's has close to two thousand animals that Kerry and her people care for. I had wanted to keep this little one with my horse, but there is too much acreage for a mini to be on. I had contacted Kerry to see if she knew of anyone that could take her. First thing she says is "send her on down". Not, how much will this cost, what health is she in, how is she with people...just send her on down. That is the way so many thousands of animals have lived at least the last part of their lives, with caring & complete love. They take animals that other adoptions & many rescues wouldn't touch. Rikki's deserves every metal, every honor that can be given to a rescue.
What a wonderful place for all species! Rikkis has helped me to help and save countless animals who had slim chances before being rescued and who were not so cute and cuddly! They have thrived at Rikkis! Bravo, Kerry!

I am so happy Rikki Refuge is here b/c years ago a male cat crossed my path. I normally worked with the local Fredericksburg SPCA on strays/ ferals on finding them a home. However this poor guy aka Manny had Feline Lukemia. So with the work of a great lady at the SPCA she got Manny into Rikki's to live his cat life. If it asnt for Rikki's I dont know what kinda life Manny would have had. Thanks Rikki's !!!!!
