Keshet has changed the face of the American Jewish community for the better. Thanks to Keshet, we are on the way to being a more inclusive and just community. My volunteer work has been forever improved due to my time with Keshet. My roles with Keshet made me feel powerful and able to make impact.
Keshet is true to is grassroots beginnings. I approached Keshet about having a presence at Boston's Youth Pride and they supported me in organizing a table and getting volunteers. They are truly an organization driven by community need and interest.
I interned over the summer of 2014 with Keshet, and was never anything but impressed by the passion for and knowledge of the work that the staff members had. Everyone at the SF branch was dedicated, knowledgeable, fun, and passionate. I think Keshet is absolutely life-changing, and I would like nothing better to see them grow and expand even more so that Jewish communities everywhere can have the luck and pleasure of being educated by them.
Keshet is leading the way in pushing the Jewish community to be more LGBTQ inclusive. From educational programming to community building, Keshet serves most of the Jewish community. As a Keshet volunteer and queer-identified Jew, I am grateful for the opportunity to join them in this hard and rewarding work.
Keshet does amazing work in providing resources and training for enabling synagogues and community groups to be welcoming and supportive for LGBT participants. I have found Keshet to be a warm and welcoming community in Boston and a great way to meet other LGBT Jews. I have had the opportunity to participate in Shabbat celebrations and in learning opportunities and have enjoyed attending and volunteering at the Cabaret fundraiser for several years. The Keshet staff and volunteers are fantastic and truly dedicated to the organization.
I loved Keshet when I was living in Boston because it let me participate in and then contribute to Jewish LGBT events. I wish it was national so that it could have reached me when I lived in Minneapolis and now that I am in Washington D.C. It has been wonderful to see it expand from Boston-only to Denver and now San Fran too! I hope to see Keshet continue to expandi the types of services it offers from social to advocacy to supportive, etc as it has been doing over the past many years.
Keshet is an amazing unique organization that makes me feel so welcome as a Jewish lesbian. I think the fact that my potential move to DC is being put off because I don't want to leave Keshet, is a testament to how strongly I feel about their mission, programming, and presence.
Keshet is at the forefront of real and thorough change in the Jewish communities' actitudes and policies about diversity, and in the GLBT Jewish world, with a very caring staff that works first, but not only, with the heart .
Thirty years and counting: I have been involved with many non-profit organizations. Keshet is at the top of my list for energy, dedication, brilliant leadership and financial responsibility.. Keshet will always have my support for the important work they accomplish. The energy surrounding Keshet is enough for 10 organizations.
I worked as a volunteer first and then for a small time as an intern when Keshet was starting to grow back in 2003. I think the vision of the organization with the community organizing tools applied, has brought to Boston, the US and also to the international Jewish community an example on how things can change for good. In Argentina and Latin America we had applied Keshet tools and programs succesfully and we have always had the support of their staff.
Keshet is a remarkable and essential resource to the Jewish community - as a straight allie who has supported other GLBT organizations for years, it's about time we got with the program! The leadership and staff of Keshet bring innovation and creativity to their work, along with an inclusive and joyous approach. In the past several years they have succeeded in developing many of the necessary tools for building awareness, strengthening education, and promoting action on GLBT issues in our community.
Keshet is doing very important work in the Greater Boston area and beyond. Their work to educate the larger jewish community about GLBT folks is really important. In addition their organizing and advocacy around equal marriage and transgender issues has and will continue to be critical.
Keshet was worked to create an open and inclusive community where members can connect in countless ways. Their educational trainings are laying the groundwork for significant change in the way that Jewish educators relate to students and how they respond to GLBT issues.
I was trained as a facilitator by keshet as part of their Hebrew school educational programs. I know that through that program and others like it keshet is generating important converstion within the Jewish community around issues of inclusion, inclusion of glbt folks, and inclusion of others. Keshet is a vital force in Boston and nationally.
Keshet is a wonderful organization in Boston with very committed staff. From Keshet trainings and interactions I have had with staff I've learned a lot about how to be more inclusive especially around trans-issues and I've been proud to march in the Boston Pride Parade with Keshet for the past 2 years.
Keshet is a wonderful organization that works to promote tolerance and understanding within the local and national Jewish community. They provide much needed training, support and advocacy.
As a straight ally, I am so honored to participate in Keshet's wonderful and inclusive programming. they do amazing work to create inroads for inclusivity in both the Jewish community and the greater Boston community as well. Keshet makes me proud to be a part of the Boston Jewish community.
My experience with Keshet, as a non-Jew, has been welcoming and amazing. The organization does an amazing job of involving all in their endeavors and has been an integral part of my spiritual life. Their ability to create opportunities to engage with affirming GLBT people is impressive and powerful. After volunteering at the Cabaret I was so moved by the sense of family and community, and truly felt as if I belonged somewhere. I have not expereinced that feeling before, and it was a true gift that the staff and supporters of Keshet nurture. Keshet is an invaluable organization that is a beacon of light in the GLBT community.
When I first discovered Keshet toward the end of my college experience, I was so grateful to have finally found a community in which my whole self -- queer and Jewish alike -- was embraced, celebrated, and affirmed. At a personal level, Keshet has given me the confidence to be a change-agent in my community, and helped me to live a richer and more integrated life. Nationally, Keshet has been a pioneering force in creating GLBT-inclusive Jewish community through education and advocacy. Thanks to the work of Keshet, I know that my kids will be born into a Jewish community that is more open, loving, and proud.
Keshet is an amazing organization that has helped transform our Jewish community in Boston. I am an ally of all that Keshet does and have seen the conversation around potentailly controversial issues get more normalized and our community really move forward because of the work of Keshet. They do educational work that really gives well meaning people the right tools to effect positive change.
