I first learned about Kaity's Way when I was in high school but it wasn't until I came to ASU that I got to here Bobbi present to my class. She shared her daughters emotonal story with us and was so willing to talk to us about domestic violence in relationships. Bobbi is incredibly passionate about this organization and empowering other women and girls to be aware. After listening to her I felt so much more passion for the fight against domestic violence. I think Kaity's Way is an incredible NonProfit Organization that fully reaches it's purpose and mission.
I did not know much about Kaity's story until her mother Bobbi came into my class and spoke. You could sense her passion in her words that she was hungry for the fight against domestic violence. In hearing Kaity's story, I not only felt for her and her family but the many women out there struggling with the same problem. I am happy to hear that Kaity's story has impacted the way it did, especially it's impact on the law.
The only way we can stop domestic violence and negative relationships, is by spreading awareness throughout our community just like Kaity's Way is doing. This organization is wonderful and I hope that it will have a very long future through donations and community involvement and support.
I believe that Kaity's Way non profit organization is a great eye opener to young girls and boys over the country. It lets young ladies know that its not okay to have an abusive boyfriend and lets guys know that girls now are paying attention to the warning signs of these abusive relationships. I like the fact that on the website it gives red flags about what could be going on and gives girls an idea of what to look out for. it also has a place to go if you need the help or a place to give help to these girls that found themselves in this predicament. I think that this organization will help many young girls and guys realize the rights and wrongs of a healthy relationship no matter how young or old they are. Keep up the work I know many of us are thankful you are there.
I feel that Kaity's Way is a great organization. It lets young girls know that abusive boyfriends are not good. To ask for help if the boyfriend is being abusive, jealous, manipulative. Kaity was a very young girl; a future ahead of her and it was destroyed by someone who was angry and jealous. This organization is eye opening to those girls who do not understand fully that if a boyfriend is acting abusive and jealous it might have a bad ending. Kaity's organization has a future ahead of it.
Ive read Katy's way after learning about troubled relationships in my crj 204 class. My best regards go out to her family and friends who have lost a sweet young lady to troubled relationships. I hope through donations and volunteering. We as the general public can prevent this from further happening.
This story is a tragic one that could happen to anybody. It was a very touching story that made me think about how careful I need to be. The story told by the mother is very emotional and it has helped many others.
This presentation was very interesting and a huge eye-opener. This Presentation opened my eyes to a lot of the red flags and provided me with a lot of helpful information.
We are often ignorant about our surroundings and Kaity's Way does an excellent job at reminding the public that incidents like that of Kaity's do occur and in order to avoid them, it is important for everyone to get involved; the families, law enforcement, friends and so on. Hearing about Kaity's story definitely opened my eyes about the unpleasant existence of abuse in relationships and I am now more aware of those around me.
Although I have not experienced such saddness, I can only provide empathy for such a heart wrenching story. What happened to this innocent girl is beyond words. It really breaks my heart because I have never heard of this story before or anything of its nature. Kaity's Way is a very important nonprofit organization, especially to the kids in their preteen years.
Kaity's way presenation was a good presentation to show the issue of dating violence. Kaity's personal story was a heart wrenching story that does give examples on what to look for in abusive relationships. Kaity's family is a strong family and is very strong to be able to share their story to educate others. With more people hearing this presentation it will hopefully in the future show the importance of healthy dating relationships for everyone.
Thank you very much for coming into class and speaking with us. I feel that the message does reach out to all different ages of people. It was a real in depth example of how a relationship can turn south in a bad way really fast. Kaity s way is an amazing program that i feel touches the lives of other and help reduce domestic violence. I really appreciate Mrs. Sudberry for coming into the classroom to speak to the class. It must be a very difficult thing to deal with.
Thank you Mrs. Sudberry for the privilege of having you as our guest speaker at Downtown ASU for CRJ494: Juvenile Justice.
I am not proud to say, “I was once a Victim.” I had so many; many red flags…that I also tried to justified for his wrongdoing; emotional and physical abuse. What a fool I felt knowing what I know now. I was so blessed to have someone (Phyllis Lovelace) in my life to guide me and encourage me to get out of that horrible bondage I caught myself in for three years. Today, I had gained a deeper insight on Katy's Law that I did not know before. I am inspired by your contributions and powerful message. Thank you again!
Kaitys way presentation during my criminal justice class really opened my eyes to the reality of domestic violence against teens. So many of the signs that Ms. Sudberry went over are usually brushed off as just being teenage drama. However through Katys way she is showing everyone not to just brush of signs of a problematic relationship as just teenage drama. I believe that Katys way will spread their message to many people throughout the valley and eventually the nation.
I hope that Kaity's Way and Bobbi Sudberry can continue to inspire the world around us about how REAL and scary these situations can come to be. I personally know people who have gone through situations such as this, minus the severity that Kaity went through. I think it's amazing what this family is doing to help others who may be going through a similar situation as Kaity was, to prevent this from happening again in the future. It should also educate and help young adults and teens to prevent themselves from going through an event as unfortunate as this. Her story and its impact has had an effect on my life, and I pray that it does to others.
Listening to your daughter story, and how it changed the way things are today is very touching. I'm from Los Angeles, and a couple years ago I lost one of my friends, due to her boyfriend. Just knowing that Kaity's way is able to help others, from being in those types of situation and getting the right type of help is amazing. Your family id doing a great thing, and I thank you.
Unfortunately I’m not a stranger to violence within relationships, well... more along the lines of crazy, controlling behavior from friends and family members that they implement onto their girlfriends or wives. I thought that the presentation by Bobby, I believe that’s the mothers name, was very informative in the sense that it brings to light the characteristics of an abusive relationship and how these characteristics can lead to serious consequences.
Kaitys way presentaion was a real in depth example of what dating violence can escalate to regardless of the age. Unfortunately the life of young girl was taken in order for people to realize how severe this issue can be. Kaitys Way presentation was very inspiring, really opens your eyes to relationship violence. Personally this is a tragedy that should have been averted and is very upsetting another innocent person is gone in order to create a law or policy. Kaitys Way presentation was one of the most inspiring presentations I have ever witnessed it was something diffrent and actually very hard to believe but its true.
Kaity's way came and talked to our Juvenile Justice class. Her mother was the speaker and really touched our class. She is a strong women who has made such a difference in the domestic violence world. Our class learned her daughter's story as well as the warning signs to look for. You really felt the emotion in the room, and was one of the best experiences I have been a part of.
Kaity's Way is an extremely beneficial organization providing awareness and education on the prevention of teen dating violence. Coming from the heart, founder Bobbi Sudberry tells Kaity's story and makes a huge impact on youth and adults alike. She covers warning signs and other important topics that people need to know about concerning domestic and dating relationships so that hopefully others can heed the red flags and prevent these occurrences from happening in the future. Her work is a heartfelt remembrance of a life lost.
Because of the prevalence of abuse in our society, the work of Kaity's Way is of great importance. This organization is made up of very dedicated individuals who work hard and believe in their mission. Bobbi and Kaity's Way have accomplished a lot, including but not limited to helping with the passage of Kaity's Law, and they have more yet to do. It is a pleasure working in collaboration with Kaity's Way.
