Volunteering Oportunities

Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Child Day Care, Children & Youth, International, International Relief

Mission: International Crisis Aids mission is to assist in sustaining life, bring encouragement to those suffering and collaborating with other relief organizations in bringing necessary foods, materials and medicines to people in times of crisis, particularly where life and death situations exist. Additionally, we attempt to bring public awareness to these situations and to solicit citizen involvement whenever and wherever possible. All assistance and resources are traditionally secured in the country of need when possible, so as to develop relations with the local business people and foster a true spirit of cooperation. To accomplish this vision we will continue to target our efforts in no-go zones; where other organizations cannot or will not go. Frequently this means taking on escalated risks. We feel that these risks are a small price to pay in a game where the stakes are so high: literally, life and death. To that end, we will continue to act as the primary delivery vehicle for outreach campaigns - a distribution system, partnered with other relief organizations to help those who live under some of the worst and most extreme conditions on earth.

Results: Crisis Aid has served more than 1.3 million people worldwide. Today we serve more than 15,000 people every month in Ethiopia and Saint Louis, Missouri, U.S.A. Without the support of our partners, thousands of children would be dead from starvation and the effects of malnutrition and hundreds of girls would likely still be stuck in red light districts and with pimps.

Target demographics: severely malnourished children and families; orphans and vulnerable children; those without access to medical care; victims of sex trafficking; local families in need; and more

Direct beneficiaries per year: 223,731 people

Geographic areas served: Ethiopia, East Africa and Saint Louis, Missouri, United States

Programs: nutritional feeding programs; medical clinics; children’s home for orphans and vulnerable children; child sponsorship programs; homes and vocational training programs for female victims of sex trafficking; water wells; children’s programs; disaster relief projects; and more. Crisis Aid has served more than 1.3 million people in 11 countries. Today Crisis Aid serves an average of 15,000 people every month in Ethiopia and the United States.

I have seen first hand the deep passion for their work, their unwavering commitment to helping those in need and the genuine integrity with which Crisis Aid International works. Pat Bradley and his team are people who love all people, period. They are the real deal and I'm honored to know such wonderful people with hearts to help others!

International Crisis Aid has its finger on the pulse of the many needs in the world today and is actively part of providing assistance to meet those needs. ICA is well organized and fiscally responsible. The organization provides assistance through volunteers and resources to meet needs in hunger relief, orphanages, medical outposts, and efforts to rescue victims of human trafficking. My brother and sister in law have been on numerous trips to Ethiopia with ICA and have been blessed to be part of being "hands and feet" in helping others around the world.

ICA cares about those children in need. Many people at our church purchase Monarch jewelry to support their Safe House for victims of sex trafficking. When I volunteered at my church in the past, some of the members of this organization spoke about the hardships they have seen and the help that children and their families received. Great Organization!!!!

I have been doing their 5K for freedom and doing what I can as far as advocacy and volunteering for ICA for a long time now. As a single mother with limited resources it is hard to find ways to feel like you are giving back and this is one of the few nonprofits I have worked with that makes you feel like you are really helping whether you can give a thousand dollars or only a few hours of your time. The people who work here full time are some of the most amazing, genuine people I have ever met. As someone with a 5 year old daughter I can't say enough how thankful I am for their SAFE program. To think that there are little girls out there that are my daughters age being brought into child sex trafficking every 2 minutes... Thank God there are groups like ICA who are dedicated to saving these babies.

I have worked with a lot of charity's in my life but this one is my new focus. I am a single mom and unemployed right now so I can't always do as much as I would like to abut I can advocate and that is something that ICA gives you the chance to do. When you hear about children being trafficked for the pleasure of grown men... That is the most disgusting, destructive things you could ever imagine. But ICA is working to save these kids and if I can help in even a small way, that is awesome!!! Thank you ICA for allowing me and so many others the privilege of helping to save these kids, even if only by spreading awareness.
