Mission: HomeAid Orange County’s mission is to end homelessness and it starts at the core – where does someone go when they suddenly find themselves without a home? HomeAid gives children and their parents, along with individuals, the opportunity to move from benches to beds to self-sufficiency. HomeAid achieves its mission through advocacy, development (of shelters) and service.
Results: Celebrating 25 years in Orange County, HomeAid is the only community based organization that has successfully developed 50 building and renovating housing projects (with a value of over $50 million) across the entire homeless Continuum of Care spectrum, providing facilities that range from emergency shelters, to transitional housing, to permanent supportive housing. Through over twenty five local service providers, HomeAid's housing developments offer support services designed to assist the homeless as they move toward self-sufficiency; such programs include education, job skills training, physical and emotional support. HomeAid's activities in Orange County have allowed service providers to significantly grow in their organizational capacity and to build successful programs impacting people's lives. As a result of the facilities that have been developed, these service providers are now in a greater position to carry out their mission and vision giving children and youth an opportunity to succeed.

I first started with HomeAid over six years ago shooting pictures of playhouses and now a gala committee member learning about all the wonders Homeaid does to help those who are homeless and without the basic essentials in life. I love helping in anyway I can, which happens to be through photograph. Capturing the moments to share with those who can either help make a difference or let those who need help know that help is here!

I have had the pleasure of volunteering for HomeAid OC for the last two years. From local diaper drives, distributing Care Kits, Stars and Stripes in Cabo, feeding the homeless at Isaiah House and the Doorways for Hope Gala in November, the local support provided by HomeAid is immeasurable. The unique individuals that are associated with this group and their commitment and enthusiasm to helping the homeless and other charities that support the homeless is phenomenal! The "what can we do" attitude is contagious and I feel privileged to be a part of this amazing charity!
It has been an honor to be involved with HomeAid for about 13 years. There are truly thousands of less fortunate individuals and families who have had a warm safe place to sleep at night because of HomeAid. I have personally seen the impact this has had on so many in Orange County. In addition to helping, this has been very rewarding personally and has allowed me to meet so many other great volunteers that I now call my friends. Sincerely, John Racunas
I work for CBRE and we gather a group of employees and our contractors every year for our Annual Build Day. This year we partnered with Home Aid Orange County, and we had a fantastic experience. They were extremely organized during both the planning and event day itself. All of our volunteers had everything that they needed to keep working, allowing us to finish all of the tasks, exceeding everyone's expectations for the day. We are looking forward to this continued partnership in the future.
