Mission: Mission: Building new lives for America's homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach.

Results: HomeAid has now completed 400 shelters around the country totaling 2,200,000 square feet of space at a cost of approximately $200 million, of which nearly 48 percent represents in-kind donations by builders and their trades and suppliers. Our facilities have now housed more than 200,000 people. We currently have 50 projects in development. It is a substantial record.

Target demographics: HomeAid partners with non-profit Service Providers that serve individuals who have suddenly become homeless through job loss, divorce, domestic violence, foreclosure and catastrophic illness. HomeAid also builds facilities for abused children, foster care youth, disabled veterans, homeless people living with HIV or AIDS, etc.

Geographic areas served: Atlanta; Colorado; Houston, TX; Inland Empire, CA; Los Angeles/Ventura, CA; Southeastern Michigan; Northern California; Northern Virginia; Orange County, CA; Portland, OR; Sacramento, CA; San Diego, CA; Seattle, WA; Southern Nevada; Washington, D.C.

Programs: HomeAid America creates local chapters across the nation, which inspire homebuilders (builder captains) and their subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to donate labor, materials, and services. The effect is that each chapter renovates or constructs 1-2 shelters per year for their local community, which are operated by existing, qualified, community-based non-profit service providers.
