For the past 9 years, through the HCF, we have taken great delight in sponsoring the education of a young boy at The Shree Mangal Dvip Boarding School in Kathmandu - one of the many manifestations of Thrangu Rinpoche's compassionate, very practical activities for benefitting many beings! This young boy was a very deprived orphan, wandering alone the streets of Boudha when he came to the attention of the School; he is now a bright-eyed, exuberant, fine mannered, well-educated young man - an avid soccor player! We visited the SMD School to meet him 5 years ago and found a very cheerful school environment which far exceded our expectations! It is clear that the highest principles - awakening to one's fullest potential as a student and aspiring to the finest and best in oneself and others- are flourishing at SMD! It is a very energetic and happy place! We have a warm and appreciative relationship with our young student and share in his challenges, joys and accomplishments through our exchange of letters and now through emails. Needless to say, this cotinues to be a very wonderful connection for us personally!
