Programs: In 2014, hands across the sea, inc. 's caribbean literacy and school support (class) program shipped over 39,400 new books, 60 boxes of school resources, and 12 sets of metal library shelving to 107 schools, libraries, reading programs and youth centers in antigua, st. Kitts and nevis, dominica, st. Lucia, st. Vincent and the grenadines and grenada. Over 25,000 students benefitted from new library books to read and classroom resources that their teachers requested.
This is an incredible organization! The books they provide to children across the Caribbean are top-notch and school children all over the region are thrilled to read new, interesting books. Their collaboration with shipping companies and local organizations to clear donations through customs makes donations to Hands by far the most cost-effective, useful way of supporting schools in the Caribbean!
