I adopted a special needs Chihuahua from HALO Animal Rescue 3 years ago. When Wally came into my life, he stirred something inside of me, and I became interested in saving Chihuahuas. Since then, I have helped HALO with mamas with puppies, puppies without mamas, and other Chihuahuas with special needs. I can't imagine not helping these animals!
Halo is an excellent organization. I first found out about Halo last July when I adopted my little Ari Gold (named Ferrari at the time). He has added so much joy to our lives. After learning more about Halo, I myself became a volunteer and truly fell in love. I wish I hadn't moved to the east valley so I could spend much more time there. It truly is the best!
HALO is a wonderful organization that rescues pets that are on the euthanasia list, provides care services, and places them in forever homes with loving owners. We have been fortunate enough to spend two weekends a month volunteering at their facility on 35th Ave in Phoenix.
During our time there, we have felt the love of the animals. It is very easy to become addicted to going because you know that you are giving back in such a positive way by enriching the lives of the animals.
The staff at the facility are always upbeat, helpful, and friendly. They make you feel like part of the team and that you are truly making a difference with your efforts, no matter how big or small. They are extremely flexible and allow volunteers to participate on the level that they feel most comfortable.
We would highly recommend HALO to anyone looking to give back or to find a deserving pet to add to the family.
I volunteered for HALO for a couple years while I was attending law school, and loved it. I'd still be going there if I had the time! The staff at HALO is wonderful, and it's clear in everyone that they care deeply for the animals in their care... and all animals! The facility is clean and well cared for, and the safety, health and happiness of the animals is clearly the top priority for everyone involved!
I was involved by working at HALO for a couple of years and can say that the staff definitly works hard. Each staff member has a great love for the animals they have in their shelter and take great care to pick dogs and cats that need them the most. Although nothing about pets being in a shelter is ideal, HALO does a great job of making the pets feel like the beloved pets they are and will be in their new home! They take time to match up people to pets that will fit their lifestyle and I have never heard them make false claims to try to push an adoption foreward just to get the pets out faster. I have my own dog from HALO and he is the apple of my eye! I have also fostered pets thru HALO and was able to get anything I needed for the animals including medicine, food, a few toys, and even a dog kennel!
I volunteer at HALO on a regular basis. Every week I get an opportunity to see what this valuable organization does to save countless lives animals who only crime is to fall victim to the human condition. They rescue approximately 250 dogs and cats each month who would otherwise be euthanized. It's not an easy job. The dedication of volunteers and staff is shown on the face of each and every pet that makes it way through this small building. HALO is a wonderful organization that is aptly named. I love every minute I spend within it's walls.
I volunteer at HALO, and they have changed my life for the better. The staff is great, the animals well cared for. I have also adopted from there as well. I can't imagine not being a part of HALO. I can go on and on. Even though I have a full time job a piece of my heart is there every single day with all the animals trying to find ther "forever home".
This is one of the greatest rescue shelters ever. Animals are so helpless, and defenseless they rely on origanizations like Halo for help.
They strive to go above and beyond when caring for cats and dogs. I am proud to say that at Halo the animals are treated like their own. Keep up the great work and effort you guys do each day to say as many dogs and cats daily. I love you guys.
Having met the founders of HALO, I know they are completely committed to saving the lives of dogs and cats in Arizona. The staff and volunteers are friendly and tireless in their erfforts. An incredible group of folks.
Amazing organization with wonderful, caring people that have saved countless homeless cats and dogs.
I have been involved in animal rescue organizations in the Phoenix area for seven years. I have been a volunteer for HALO for two years at their Thrift Store Boutique. The Thrift store is a nonprofit and all proceeded go to help the operation of the shelter and all of the good work they are doing to rescue and save thousands of animales in the Phoenix area.
The work and the dedication of all of the staff and volunteers is fantastic. I have enjoyed working with such careing and big harted volunteers.
This organization will always go the extra mile to save an animal in need.
I have been volunteering with HALO for over a year now. I volunteer about ten hours each week so I have grown close to the animals, the staff, and the organization itself. I am so inspired by the things I see when volunteering. It is the most touching thing to see an animal, who would have otherwise been euthanized, get to be adopted and become part of someone's family. To know that you have changed these animals lives for the better is such a priceless gift. HALO is truly about the animals and believes that all animals deserve a second chance. I am blessed to be able to spend my time with these wonderful animals and people. The staff at HALO all have such big hearts and care so much for the animals. Without HALO, so many loving cats and dogs would not have been given their second chance at life. I am thankful to be apart of this organization and to be able to see the positive impact it has on so many other people and animals. HALO is simply fighting for the lives of animals that don't have the voice to fight for themselves.
