I love Grist - they keep me up-to-date on what's going on in the environmental news. Sometimes this makes the headlines for other groups, but not always. And they offer commentary and opinions, which are interesting and provocative.

Grist is my go-to website for all issues related to sustainability. And as someone who works in this field, it is so beneficial to have a one-stop website where I can find well researched articles and share them with my peers.

As a graduate student at George Washington University in Sustainability, I have found Grist as good source for information on the environment, business, and other societal issues. Additionally, the Grist community has been helpful in making connections for practicum and field study course work. Thank you to Grist.

I follow Grist's coverage of the environment and green lifestyles very closely; its recent articles on the carcinogenic qualities of aspartame in particular have changed my behavior for the better.

Best green information and articles that I've ever come across (and I've been following green issues for over 40 years). Many valuable links to other sites and articles. Grist is down-to-earth, reliable and presents the facts to back up what they say.

I am a food writer, and I find Grist (especially Tom Philpott's pieces) to be very helpful in my ongoing education about sustainable agriculture and healthy food issues. Since I have my own blog and I write cookbooks, I feel it is terribly important for me to keep up on national policies and regional issues that concern food. Grist's weekly newsletters provide me with quick, smart insight--and practical, useful tips--that I can use not just in my writing (which goes out to yet another subset of folks--people wanting to learn to cook) but in my only daily practices. I love GRIST!

I first found Grist when looking up information on environmental education for children (my profession.) Great article about getting kids outdoors and providing POSITIVE experiences in nature at a young age... since then, Grist has informed me of many other environmental topics that were not previously on my radar (the food industry, home gardening/raising chickens, CSAs, the importance of biking/bike lanes/ legislation, and much more!)

Grist keeps me up-to-date, is entertaining, and provides a fun, non-threatening jumping off point for many environmental issues!

Where do I even start!?!? I love Grist, seriously though. I started reading around six years ago when I was a sophomore in high school, out of random curiosity. Of course, I subscribed to the weekly emails and my interest in environmental issues skyrocketed.

Grist connects me to everything I need to know, whether it be the environmental legislation possibly going through in Congress, to the cutting edge smart growth plans, to random questions answered by Umbra.

Thanks to Grist and its delightful way of planting seeds, I now am going to graduate school for environmental policy at Indiana U - Bloomington. Had it not been for that initial spark, I don't think I would be quite a "climate hawk" or tree-hugger or vegan (but I'm not a hipster by any means...). What an impact this site has had! THANK YOU!!!!

Grist is one of my daily reads that help me interpret and see the humor of issues that can be otherwise overwhelming. I read it to keep up with all the angles of food issues and topics around sustainability. I especially appreciate Philpott's research and writing and his ability to respond to comments based on the facts and I like Umbra for the irreverent peek into life that I otherwise would not view.
