Grist's eco witty, groovy or edgy pre-headline before every main headline soooooo nurtures my witty, groovy or edgy head-life. Then the articles either go deep to show the team how to go deep for our sweet earth, or they cheer us on so we can all be a bit more chipper when we are doing our sometimes painful or gristy work for our sweet mother earth.

With entertaining wordsmithing, Grist manages to entertain me and educate me at the same time on issues that directly impact the health of the planet and my health as an individual. Grist exposes false advertizing, encourages cleaner/smarter living through higher options and better choices, points out inconsistencies in public policies dealing with polution, plus so much more. I learn something new and very helpful to me with every edition. I've searched out an electric provider that uses renewable resources. I've changed the way I shop for produce. I've started walking more and seek out public transportation when it's available. I share links to the site with friends on a regular basis. Grist has changed my life for the better. Please give them the recognition they deserve.

I look forward to my Daily Grist newsletter, which is always filled with up-to-date, well-researched stories regarding the environment and related issues. Almost daily, I share a story with others, pursue an issue by contacting a company or elected official, or use what I have learned in decision-making about lifestyle or consumer behavior.
I love the positive attitude and consider Grist to be an essential part of being an informed citizen of planet Earth.

I love this site. I have learned things here that I never knew - and I am fairly well read. They give me references to documents that I can go to for more information - primary resources, so I know the info is the best it can be. Plus they do it with humor which is something many history professors could learn. LOL. If I provided specific examples I'd be here all day as I've been reading them for years. Suffice it to say I appreciate their knowledgable, well researched, well written articles that help me make decisions on things going on in this world.

I have been a Grist subscriber for more than five years now (and a vicarious reader through friends before that). It is an important daily reminder to try to live better and provides witty, good advice to help do that. The pieces on seeking out more environmentally friendly food sources and recipes are especially helpful. I also enjoy Umbra Fisk's Q&A columns, they offer very practical guidance. Of all the emails I receive, I always make sure that I review the Grist emails. The subject matter is too important to ignore!

I receive Grist's top news headlines every day and almost always make time to read through it and even click on a few headlines. Grist keeps me well informed on a broad range of topics relevant to the environment - from climate change politics to food to urban living and cycling. This is a news source that I totally rely on and I have for years, ever since I was required to sign up for the updates for an Enviro. Policy class in college.

It's an excellent source of information, and it has been adding features and contributors in recent years. I consider myself much more environmentally aware as a result of getting a daily Grist email. And the humor doesn't hurt either.

You don't need to share their political perspective to find utility in Grist's articles, something I love and appreciate about it. They're frequently at the forefront of covering issues that most mainstream publications ignore or don't cover until well after the same have appeared on Grist's radar. I always feel like I'm getting well-researched reporting when I read Grist.

Grist is an online news organization that uses humor to interpret green issues and inspire environmental action. If green were the norm, we’d have climate legislation in place. But people reject environmental information when it’s gloomy and makes them think they have to live in a yurt. So Grist is building a new movement by reaching 800,000 people a month who are redefining what it is to be green. This is not your parents’ environmentalism. Their readers are eager to learn about, discuss, and take action on the issues—Grist helps us do just that. Grist is an online news organization that uses humor to interpret green issues and inspire environmental action.
