Mission: The purpose of this charitable organization is to provide care in the form of shelter, food, medical care and a home for cats that are in need. It is an additional “chance” for both disposed cats and cats scheduled for euthanasia by public shelters.
The ultimate goal is to find a home for the cats and to place them with people (adoptive families). We will accept any cat whether it is adoptable or inadaptable and believe strongly with the “no kill” philosophy - which means that some cats will be a long term project. New families for the cats are carefully screened and have to go through a qualification process.
We strongly believe and have set this shelter up as an environment where cats have the ability to roam and play and be outdoors. This promotes interaction with other cats, nature, and exercise and allows the cat to be healthier and happier.
Programs: To serve cats in need of a home, give them food medical care and shelter and then adopt them out to good owners

Not only does Goathouse Refuge provide a great place to meet adoptable cats, it also provides a safe, loving home for "unadoptable" cats. It is amazing the see the main colony live so harmoniously and happily together. The grounds are beautiful as are the people who have dedicated their lives to rescuing cats.
I am a cat lover and have quite a few of my own. I visited the Goathouse just so I could provide some love and attention to the cats there. Was I ever impressed! I felt like the Pied Piper walking around with loving cats following me and wanting attention. Everywhere I looked there were cats, all healthy, happy, and well cared for. Only those needing special care were confined. And each cat had its own story which the founder knew by heart. The Goathouse now has a special place in my heart. It's an impressive place that deserves the support of all animal lovers.
Goathouse Refuge is a cage-free sanctuary that's doing great work for homeless animals. Please consider helping their program through volunteering, donations of supplies or funds, or by adopting one of their healthy and loving cats.
