As an pediatric oncology social worker, I have been along side families whose children are going through very difficult times. It goes without saying how difficult the treatment is on the child but I believe it is even more difficult on the parent for many reasons. Supporting their child during treatment is only part of the concern. With most families, one of the parents usually has to leave work to care for their child. This drop in income causes a great deal of financial hardship for the family. This hardship is doubled when it involves a single parent being the caregiver. One of my responsibilities is to seek out foundations who are able to support the family during this time.
This year, during the holiday season, I supported many newly diagnosed families who were so anxious about not being able to provide a Christmas for their family. I submitted a referral to Go 4 the Goal for one family. I did remind the family of the fact I was not sure how much of the child's wish list could be fulfilled by G4TG. The family stated they would be grateful for any assistance they would receive.
On the day of the delivery, when I called the parents in to my office, the Mom began to cry and Dad did his best not to join her. They took everything out of the bags and were so excited showing each other the items. They looked like children opening gifts on Christmas morning. They could not say thank you enough and I reminded them it was not me, but G4TG, who is giving their children a Christmas.
I feel so blessed to be the conduit for such a wonderful foundation. They never hold back and they're giving far exceeds anything any one would or should expect.
I am thanking you, not only from me but for my families. Wishing you all the best in the coming year!
We come across Go4theGoal in an email from the athletics coordinator inviting our Travel Baseball teams to host a "Gold Event" to help raise money for Pediatric Cancer. What they didnt know is that we not only have Travel Baseball teams, but are a Tournament host each year for the Jaguars Memorial Tournament, where 96 Baseball teams from all over Ohio and neighboring states compete in Grove City, Ohio. Each year we like to make our event a great baseball experience for all teams involved, but also to highlight the amazing opportunity we have to come together and help others. Each year we have focused our efforts to different local charities, but felt that we could not do as much as possible due to managing such a large event.
the 2015 Jaguars Memorial Tournament was a "Gold Event" with Go4theGoal. They made it simple on us as tournament directors, just a few emails, they handled the rest! The event was very succesfull, and we generated more this year for Charity than any year past! All Jaguars Tournaments will be "Gold Events" with Go4theGoal!

Go4thegoal helped immensely in our National Cancer Survivor Day for our patients and families at Cardon Children's Medical Center. They provided items for our gift bags that we handed out to each survivor and they volunteered their time and efforts to ensure our cancer survivors experienced a memorable celebration. We are so appreciate of Go4thegoal and all their hard work to ensure our patients and families' needs are being met.
Go4theGoal has been quickly responsive and supportive to many families that I have worked with. They have been flexible and accommodating to individual needs, whether they are practical or emotional supports - they just seem to want to meet a need and help a child and family. Whether it is assistance with a hotel bill or helping a student pay a tuition bill, Go4theGoal has been a wonderfully collaborative foundation to work with. They are a go-to for families and I am grateful that they do the work that they do!
As the social worker for a children's hospital, I love Go4TheGoal! They offer our families who are already emotionally overwhelmed by what's going on with their kids a resource - bill help - when it's needed most. Many of my families have had to quit a job (or got fired) because they were at the hospital with their sick child. They're worried with how am I going to pay the rent so my son or daughter has a home to return to. G4TG alleviates that concern in that moment so they can focus on their child's illness and helping them get better! I specifically like how fast the turn-around response is (24 hours or less usually). Again, it eases a parent's weight immediately! Thanks for all you do for my patients at our hospital in Charleston, SC! - Tiombe Plair, LMSW
I'm an Oncology Social Worker at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland who collaborates with Go4thegoal often. The staff are phenomenal! They have large hearts and do great work to help so many families that are struck by cancer. They are very responsive and expeditiously help me in my role to problem solve issues that arise for my families. I am grateful that Go4thegoal does the work that they do and look forward to continue our wonderful working relationship. I give a big THANK YOU!
Go4thegoal has helped so many of my families in their times of need. I've been so impressed, not only with the generosity of this organization, but with their attentiveness to providing assistance in a timely manner. I've seen this organization go above and beyond to pay a family's electric bill by making the payment online instead of mailing a check, just so the payment wouldn't be late. I enjoy working with G4TG tremendously and will continue to rely on them to provide much needed help to families of children with cancer.
You all are wonderful in what you do, and not only wonderful but quick in your response, either for what you can do as well as what you are unable to do. I know the families you have assisted us are very pleased with Go4theGoal! Carolyn K. Williams, MSW Oncology Social Worker, CHKD, Norfolk, VA
I found out through the internet that a local teen who plays basketball had been diagnosed with Leukemia. I seached the internet and found go4thegoal. I loved the idea of selling showlaces to our towns children and sports team. It seemed to me like an easy thing to sell and something that the kids could use. Beth at Go4thegoal was so helpful and kind on the phone. I picked up laces the same day I made my first phone call to her. I had everything I needed to get started. That night in a few hours I sold 20 laces to a few people at a basketball game. People were so generous and so supportive and loved the laces and the bracelets. I was able to take pictures and post them on media sites so that our local teen that was battling leukemia could see that we were there for him and supporting him. It just took one phone call to get the ball rolling it couldn't have been any easier.

I am a social worker at a children's hospital. Go 4 the Goal has been an amazing organization that has assisted many of our families, specifically during emergent situations. All of their staff are professional, passionate, and responsive to the needs of our families. I can not think of a better run, more dedicated organization than G4G. Thank you for all that you do to serve pediatric cancer patients and their families!
We are grateful to gof4thegoal for providing beach access to patients who are experiencing end of life care and wish to be with their families in a relaxed setting. Go4thegoal presents unique opportunities for families to bond when their children when receiving palliative care and all other avenues have been exhausted to provide respite care for these families. Thank you for this special service for the families.
