Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Arts & Culture, Visual Arts

Mission: Why? For Love & Art believes that viewing art unleashes powerful, creative and unique experiences for people and that sharing these experiences greatly elevates quality of life psychosocially, cognitively, spiritually and physically. How? For Love & Art partners with the community outreach programs of fine museums around the world and showcases their collections individually, (Virtual Museum ArtBooks), or in group presentations ("Courting the Art Experience"). Professional and volunteer caregivers actively engage participants to reflect, recollect and share their experiences while viewing museum masterpieces. Fear, loneliness and boredom transform into beauty, joy and magic of life. What? For Love & Art is a 501(c)3 nonprofit enterprise whose mission is to bring the Art Experience to people with limited mobility. Simply, we use museum art to "love on" people.

Results: As of October 30, 2016: Partnered with 20 fine museums around the world. Gave over 200 "Courting the Art Experience" group presentations to senior communities. Placed 265 Virtual Museum ArtBooks as memorial gifts in hospices, hospitals and senior venues. Trained over 400 caregivers. Touched over 20,000 individuals.

Target demographics: People with Limited Mobility: Seniors, the sick and infirm, those with end of life issues. People in hospitals, predominantly children and veterans.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Patients, residents and caregivers in VA Hospitals in various cities, Senior Communities, Hospitals

Geographic areas served: Senior Communities and Hospitals all over the world.

Programs: "Courting the Art Experience" An hour long program during which residents of senior communities are engaged by volunteers to share their experience while viewing masterpieces from our partner museums on big screen community televisions. Fear, loneliness and boredom transform into Beauty, Joy and Magic of Life! Virtual Museum ArtBook Endowment: An individual or group fundraises $750.00 & chooses an eligible healthcare facility (hospice, hospital, VA Medical Center) to endow a Virtual Museum ArtBook in memory of a chosen other. The perfect memorial gift that brings art and what art provides - mind, body and soul - to the infirm at the grassroots.

I've been a minister for over 30 years. Sitting and watching this program gave me the same sense as leading my religious tours through the Holy Land...the sense of beauty and awe these paintings brought forth. Before witnessing it firsthand, I was skeptical about how it enriches the soul. Now I completely agree. Top marks for your efforts. God bless you.

I loved every bit of this presentation. It was telling us about the heritage of the Indians and I got quite enthused about how the Indians were living and how they rode their horses. And I especially like the painting of "The Pony Express." I am so glad the Sid Richardson Museum in Fort Worth became part of this project because I'd never be able to get to see these beautiful paintings on my own.

On a scale of 1-5, I'd give this project a 7.

For Love & Art is a breath of fresh air. I really enjoyed this presentation. I love art, it takes my mind off of everything. I loved today’s show, with all the Indians. I used to date an Indian back in high school. It also reminded me of Arizona, where I spent a large part of my life. Your show was beautiful and brought back so many fond memories. I'll bring a friend the next time you come.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I’d rate this about 6.

This presentation was beautifully informative and hearing other people talk about how they experienced the paintings challenged me to think outside the box and see things that weren't obvious to me at first. We can't get to the museums anymore and it's wonderful that the museums can come to us. We're so glad you found us and can't wait for you to return!

I work for an assisted living as a life enrichment coordinator. This activity was referred to me by another community. It really brings the art to life and makes the residents reach back into their beautiful memories to share with the group. It had the most participation I have seen in a while from an events perspective.
Art is such a wonderful thing and bringing that type of beauty into the community has been incredible. I am so lucky to have gotten them to come. The representative from For Love and Art is wonderful and kind. We are thrilled with the presentation and I would recommend it to anyone!

This is a wonderful nonprofit organization that also supports other nonprofit organizations. For Love and Art donated to our nonprofit children's theatre, not only by placing a business ad in our program but by donating artwork for our raffle. The families and children of The ACT appreciate For Love and Art.

I want to Thank For love and Art for being an AWESOME EXPERIENCE that they bring to THE PARK IN PLANO twice a month. We only started with maybe 10 residents to participate, now we are 20 to 30 strong from MARK and CREW being so gentle, inspiring, and hands on with individual residents. That's by far what I enjoy the most, as well as the residents. Thanks FOR LOVE AND ART. YOU GUYS REALLY ROCK!!!!! DOTTIE CALDWELL.
