Erowid is undoubtedly one of the longest running and most reliable sources of information about medications, pharmaceuticals and other mind altering substances. Untouched by corporate interests, it's served in its purpose honestly and faithfully since the dawn of the internet and deserves all the praise I can muster.
Erowid is no doubt the best vault of information regarding substance use. Its info is trusted and it has helped me out many times, and has helped out countless people since 1995.
Erowid provides useful information about a vast number of substances and plants. In doing so, it helps to educate, reduce stereotypes and make drug use safer.
I feel confident this sites has prevented many traumatic experiences, trips to the hospital and even deaths. The curated sources range from scientific experts to end-user experience reports. The warnings on common problems such as critical/small dosing, adulterants, and the actual report of the analyses contents of some drugs carry more weight from this source than from a governmental or traditional news source. Whenever I see a sensational headline involving some drug, Erowid is my first resource to get a breadth of information from a single trusted source.
No hysteria and no fan-boy hype, just facts and user reviews. I am sure that this valuable resource has saved lives and psyches. I have visited many other information and harm reduction sites and none compares to Erowid in the breadth and depth of their information.
A reliable source of factual information. Used and referenced by professionals.
erowid is a lovely mix of detailed information, resources, and first hand stories. I've no doubt this site has saved many lives, my own included :p
Erowid is an amazing website that has more information on drugs than most people want or need, it offers you the chance to truly receive education about the drugs you may have been prescribed or are taking for recreational benefit.
When most governments around the world see that teaching abstinence as the only acceptable form of drug education, you need a website like erowid to pop up on google when you are searching for information on a drug.
Any other site such as webmd, would simply say to you that drugs are bad, and you shouldn't do them. This doesn't stop kids from guzzling cough syrup and anti-histamines for a cheap high, all this does is keep them unaware of dangerous dosage levels and other information that can reduce the risk of harm.
Using Erowid before using a drug is like putting on a condom before having sex. Knowing is half the battle, and in practice it keeps everyone in society safer.
Thank you Erowid for always being there.
