Mission: The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida (EFOF) leads the fight to stop seizures, find a cure and overcome challenges created by epilepsy.
Results: More people understand and protect their brains now because of the awareness and advocacy that the EFOF provides. Besides providing medical to people who wouldn't have it otherwise, we also educate those with insurance and not idea what Epilepsy is, We help understand the different seizure types, what to do for each type and how to protect your Brain! We gave away almost 50,000 bicycle helmets across the state to prevent head injury.
Programs: EFOF flagship programs, the Epilepsy Medical Services Program and the Case Management Program, provide individuals with access to a continuum of high-quality medical services, including neurological evaluations and follow-ups, electroencephalographs (EEGs) and blood testing to establish baseline conditions as well as ongoing neurological services semi-annually or annually, as needed by individual program participants. Medical case management includes regular blood monitoring to measure the efficacy of Anti-Epileptic Drugs (AEDs), imaging services (MRIs, etc.), medical counseling and referrals.
