I attend EVAW conferences at least yearly and am always please with the up to date information provided. The work they do benefits all those wroking in the fields of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault by helping provide the tools we need in order to better serve the victims of these horrendous crimes.
It's also always nice for me to simply spend time with others who are as passionate as I am about ending abuse, educating our communities, helping victims become survivors then thrivers, and holding batterers accountable.
Asa professional working in the Sexual abuse field i have attended EVAWI conferrences as well as used the resources they provide in my work with survivors adn also in training other professionals.
thank god i have not had a personal experience with this organizaton however i have been an RN working in the emergency room for many years and know the pain of many women. As i continue now working as a forensic nurse with SART in the bronx i continue to service many women with whom i am sure will be helped by this organization in some way. And i am glad someone is there for them.
Working with the people at EVAW has been a blessing. The organization has helped our center provide more efficient services to sexual assault victims, and hold other professionals accountable to provide victim center services.
I am a Director of a Batterer Reducation Program. I have 30 years experience working on issues of violence against women.
I have found EVAW to be an invaluable resource for Women in children who are struggling with intimate partner and family violence issues who are out side of the U.S. but are U.S. citizens.
I have found EVAW training very educational in all areas addressing violence against women. I work as the victim services program director in a city attorney's office so I appreciate education from several points of view: i.e. law enforcement, prosecution, and victim services. I have attended classes from Stalking to domestc violence to sexual assault, as well as those designed to help service workers' compassion and fatigue issues. The all encompassing nature of EVAW conferences makes this a valuable opportunity for me.
EVAWI provides excellent training, resources and technical assistance. We are always happy to have them come train professionals in our state. The resources they provide are current, user friendly and professional. When you have a question or need advice, the staff are just a phone call away.
EVAWI inspires us all to keep moving forward and never give up. They listen to your needs and provide encouragement; this is evident with their Start by Believing Campaign.
EVAW has been a great resource to both myself and my office. I am a prevention worker that supervises several victim advocates. I consistantly get great resources, information, and even free classes that I share with the other professionals that I work with. I am registered to attend my first conference in April hosted by EVAW, and I can't wait! Thanks EVAW for all that you do!
End Violence against women is a great source of information to our Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners Program. They provide assistance to both victims and professional and we really appreciate all their efforts.
EVAW has equipped me with knowledge to support sexual assault victims in my country. I always receive they invitation for webinars and annual conferences which offer the most advanced and updated information. I consider that this organization should receive more advertisement which could help the general public, allies and other professionals find out and benefit from them.
I work for a Federal law enforcement agency and specialize in sex crimes prevention and resposne. I've attended the EVAW conference for the past few years and have received valuable information at each and every one. I've also had the need to contact EVAW when I've needed specific guidance or assistance with issues in my related field. They have always been receptive and their responses were extremely helpful. I will contunue to support EVAW for as long as I'm in this career field and even after I retire.
I have been a close supporter of EVAW Inc for some years now as I found that their knowledge and expertise are second to none. Their work and endeavours is based on a passion to assist & educate as many as possible but in my belief, not for monetary gain. The impact of this is best illustrated in how I could adapt & utilise this knowledge to enhance and develop my own work as a law enforcement officer. I regret that due to legislation, I am unable to cite specific incidents but I do know that knowledge gained through EVAW Inc was invaluable to me in time of crisis. EVAW Inc are change-agents and are leaders within their field therefore I would have no hesitancy in recommending EVAW Inc as a Forum of Best Practice to anyone or any agency in the field.
EVAW provides a variety of opportunities of learning along with extended an invitation to an upcoming conference event next month of which I would have not otherwise been able to attend due to our agencies budget issues. I feel honored to have been given the opportunity to attend and volunteer at such an event.
I have gained insight and have shared this site with others who have also stated that the site is awesome, easy to understand and gives additonal resources on available training. EVAW is an awesome agency that not
only is victim centered but allows for agencies to put into place ideas for multi disciplanary practices to better serve others.
EVAW, Inc. has been instrumental in educating myself and others in the field of violence against women. On a regular basis, I utilize EVAW's educational resources to enhance my skills as a sexual assault nurse examiner. On a more personal note, EVAW's director has been instrumental in helping to set up a SART team in our rural community, bringing law enforcement, social workers. advocates and nurses together to better care for the members of our community.
As a prosecutor whose caseload consists entirely of cases of domestic violence, I have had occasion to use professional materials generated by EVAW and attend EVAW conferences several times over the years. I have found EVAW to be consistently excellent in its ability to bring together great trainers, create truly helpful materials, and (re-)energize professionals working to end violence against women.
As an advocate for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking I am constantly searching for resources and good training for myself and other professionals in the criminal justice system. I first attended an EVAW Inc. conference in San Diego almost 10 years ago, it was the best training I had ever seen on the topic. I've since attended a few other training conferences and have always been impressed with the trainers and materials.
