Change can be a catalyst for good, and that has certainly been true at ECHS this year. With the on-boarding of Holly Thoms, the shelter has been able expand and enhance services to the animals. With these additional services and dedicated volunteers, ECHS is making a positive impact in the lives of animals and also in the communities the shelter serves. Many 'someday' wishes have now come to reality for this little shelter - microchipping of animals, the SNAP program and a TNR program. I am very excited about the future of ECHS!

Eaton County Humane Society is an amazing place!
They take the best care of all their animals. The building is very clean and organized. The people working and volunteering there are wonderful! They are constantly working on getting all their animals adopted into great families.
In the sad situation that animals end up in shelters, at least this is one of the best to end up in!

The Eaton County Humane Society ("ECHS") is an AWESOME place to adopt your next furbaby!! The director, Holly, has many years of experience & truly cares about the animals. There are new volunteers, new board members & new staff that have also contributed to the amazing growth of ECHS. You all are doing an FABULOUS job!!! Thank you!!!

I regularly check out the ECHS website and I am really impressed. What great descriptions, stories, and photos of the animals in need they have. I know they recently had some unexpected expenses for which they took a big financial hit, but have remaIned diligent to help the orphaned animals in their community find forever homes. Plus, I just learned they are going to be helping Texas out and taking in a group of dogs orphaned by the Hurricane! Keep up the great work ECHS! You are greatly needed!

There is no one more committed than Holly Thoms. Bright and certainly as knowledgeable and educated about animals as the best of them, Holly is devoted to using that knowledge and all her abilities to make the world better for shelter animals and the community. A true animal advocate, she is hard-working, dedicated, personable, and committed. Holly understands the bigger picture as well as the importance of the day-to-day and best practices for animal shelters. She is open to new ideas - and a champion of what works. And she is always willing to learn more.
I worked closely with Holly a few years back on a project she was instrumental in helping to lead in our state - closing the remaining gas chambers in Michigan - and in connection with the on-going effort to pass State legislation to ban their use permanently. From the big picture to the day-to-day, Holly never faltered. My only regret is that I'm too far to offer hands-on help with her shelter. I support her 100%!

Due to a family tragedy and forced move, a friend of mine was in desperate need to re-home her two little dogs. As an 11 year old bonded pair of siblings, she knew their age would work against them and reached out to me to help her help them. Holly and ECHS stepped up, and their volunteer Tori Steffy made the *200 mile* round trip to pick up these little guys. I can't say enough good things about an organization and it's people who would go to such lengths to help protect these little souls. Thank you, Holly. Thank you Tori. And thank you Eaton County Humane Society on behalf of Bubba and Karin!
