This nonprofit organization is an awesome program offered to children whom want to play an instrument and are not able to afford rental or are not in any means educated on how to learn how to play an instrument, the Organization Desert Sounds has help children get there instruments and learning to play music on top of expanding children’s minds has also help children from the program bring up grades in school, also volunteers in addition to funding also help to keep the organizations vital. The Director from Desert Sounds has other programs that help children learn other cultural types of music for example the Mariachi group of all ages is also an awesome program offered by Desert Sounds the Director has put in a lot of time into this program and are always looking into more volunteers to add and any donations will be greatly put to use for the future of our children.
DESERT SOUNDS is an amazing organization with a hard-working Director who makes it all work for students and parents. Desert Sounds provides instruments to students who otherwise would not be able to learn or play music. The rewards of studying music remain a life-long experience that develops the whole child. In this economic time, it is a struggle for children and their parents to gain access to an instrument but Desert Sounds will reach out to any child's school to work with the family and the music teacher in their school to provide an instrument. The organization survives on donations & will purchase new instruments for the child to use for the entire school year. As a small child, I grew up listening to music; throughout my education, I studied classical music and have been working with elementary, high school & university students for 50 years. All my children studied music throughout their school educations (elementary, high school, and university) and I attest to the impact that music has made in their lives. Not only gaining the music knowledge but their overall learning skills and work/study habits were remarkable. I give praise to Jennifer Crews, her staff and the entire Desert Sounds Organization.
