Mission: Crown Jewel Club is a non-profit organization that empowers at-risk girls with basic etiquette and social skills essential to building self-esteem and self-confidence for academic achievement and overall success in life.
Programs: Crown jewel club provides a seven week, after-school program to 40 inner-city 4th and 5th grade girls. The girls were taught basic manners, how to make introductions and how to conduct themselves in social situations. Through the program they developed self-confidence, respect for themselves and others, understanding the value of giving, the outcome of perseverance and knowing the importance of education, family and friendships.
Professional with expertise in this field
I have been associated with Crown Jewel Club for eight years and have seen hundreds of girls' lives enhanced through this program. For many of the girls, this experience is as close to guidance in etiquette, life planning, goal setting, and hygiene as they will get during their adolescence. The love and support they feel is so vital for their transitional years into the teens and they leave the program so much better prepared to meet life in middle school than girls for whom this is not an option. This is such a meaningful gift to give a girl and one that provides a lifelong value.
