DebtHelper staff members called me several times to be sure I was ready for the counseling session with Bill Messerschmidt. They were very clear about the information I needed to have at hand during my hour session with Bill in March 2017. He called on schedule and shared A LOT of facts and options while explaining the Reverse Mortgage process. All folks I talked to were polite and extremely helpful in the daunting process of understanding reverse mortgage loans and the process. They kept in touch with my advisor at the mortgage company and immediately faxed him the necessary papers for the process to move forward. I will definitely recommend this group to my friends. Thanks for a positive experience!
My wife and I enjoyed our counselling session with Bill Messerschmitt. He was informative and gave us valuable information about the Reverse Mortgage. We would definitely recommend Debt Helper and Bill for counselling services. Thank you
My experience with William on 3/15/2017 was very informative. I learned a lot about reverse mortgages. He help me to understand the progress he help me in considering the options that were available to meet my needs...
I've read a billion things about reverse mortgages and it was like cramming for my finals, figuratively and literally! At 75 I'm still working because I HAVE to and I live in fear that I will lose that job - no one's gonna hire a person of my age. Anyway I was referred by a friend to a Reverse Mortgage Specialist , Earl Rose - he patiently went over everything and then sent me to DEBTHELPER.COM, which is a counseling service that makes sure you know exactly what your options are and to give you the opportunity to consider your decision. I worked with a super nice guy named Bill Messerschmidt and he is the most patient man - he was polite and calm no matter how many times I interrupted him to clarify something. He answered all of my questions and even maintained a sense of humor.
Now that I know what this reverse mortgage thing is all about - I'm going to go ahead with the process and hope this will help take some of the pressure off my shoulders.
The information and help I received from Nicole ButtsWimpel and JacobDenton on the Hardest Hit Fund, was above and beyond what I could ever imagine. Their professionalism and expertise made the whole process a much easier task.Thank you
This company was very Helpful. Very understanding of my situation. I would recommend them anytime.
Awesome company! This company did a workshop at my church. I took notes not knowing that I would soon need their assistance. Illness hit and I contacted debithelpers.com for help with the hardest hit program. Nichola was amazing! She walked me through the paperwork and process step by step. Nichola answered all of my questions and at no point did I feel lost. She emailed and called me at my convenience--- who does that??? Not to many companies that I know. I was approved for the hardest hit program; meaning catching up my mortgage and paying it for me for 12 months. Free, I didn't give them a dime!! What a blessing.
Bill Messerschmidt handled our reverse mortgage counseling session with the utmost professionalism.
His information was concise and easily understandable. If we had any question he took the time to explain the answer completely and made certain that we understood that answer.
We highly recommend Bill and Debthelper.com
The Credit Card Counseling session was very informative. I'm glad I took this and waiting on next session. Everyone should learn from this and take the course. You will feel better and smarter . My Counselor was real nice and explained everything to me.
This is a true testimony of the journey to save my house. I was unemployed for 4 years after being laid off in 2011 from a company where I gave 11 years of service, due to cut backs and the economy. During that time I STRUGGLED to pay my mortgage and fell short in the last 20 months. When I was 12 months past due I asked the bank if they would combine the past due amounts and add it to the mortgage which would grant me an opportunity to start over. The bank refused. Then I boldly asked the bank if they would willing to take $10,000.00 and allow me to start paying the mortgage again. It was a bold move because I did not physically have the money yet. The bankstill refused and filed a foreclosure on my house.
I realized that the bank had no intention to work with me and that this is a problem that a lot of homeowners face. You pay a “30 year mortgage” for over 20 years and as you get close to the finish line they want to rob you of your hard work, then capitalize on it with someone else. Lord, the devil has a plan, but My God has a planet and within that planet there are some GREAT PEOPLE and resources such as Florida Hardest Hit Fund (FHHF) that helped people like me and my friend Clinton (Junior), who God sent to provide me with the information.
It was a long and, at times, tedious journey. It seemed I would be asked for 5 papers and once those were sent I was asked for 10 more. The same process took place but the amount of papers requested seemed to increase. BUT it was all worth it!
In my first attempt seeking help with FHHF, I was told I was not qualified. I was honest in all aspects, so it befuddled me. Yet, I tried again and my persistence paid off in the end. I was working with a FHHF representative by the name of Jacob and if there is an award for the best customer service, Jacob should be the recipient 10 times over. Jacob has the patience, professionalism, tolerance and empathy of a saint. When I was initially not qualified, he took the time to explain everything in detail, even though I was not a client and there was no benefit to help me. He was just as gracious in my moment of triumph as he was in the face of my defeat.
I wrote this message for a few reasons. First, I want to thank the family at Florida Hardest Hit Funds, especially Jacob who had worked on my case so diligently. Secondly, for those of you who are struggling give them a call. You may even get Jacob but, regardless, I can assure you that FHHF will fight for you! Lastly, do not let the banks take away what you have worked so hard for, there are resources out there to help you, reach out to them.
