Mission: The mission of C.E.O. Women is to create economic opportunities for low-income immigrant and refugee women through teaching English, communications and entrepreneurship skills, so they can establish successful livelihoods. C.E.O. Women then provides women with intensive mentoring, coaching and access to capital needed to start a small business.
Results: C.E.O. Women has a proven model of training and supporting low-income immigrant and refugee women who have dreams of starting their own businesses. We create entrepreneurs and improve women's economic livelihoods. Our data shows that we've served over 1,000 women since inception. In C.E.O. Women's 2007 annual outcomes survey of women who received more than 10 hours of service, we found the following: * 64 % of women report an average income increase of $28,000 per household. * 36 % of women start or grow businesses. * 87% of women increase their confidence speaking, writing and reading English. C.E.O. Women knows that when you help an individual woman, you help her community. C.E.O. Women measures the impact that we have on the economy both in terms of the increase in dollars spent locally as well as the total projected benefit on the local economy. By 2011, C.E.O. Women expects that graduates will contribute more than $30M in income spent in their local economies annually and provide more than $75M in economic value than they would have provided without participating in our program.
