Mission: Cool the Earth’’s mission is to engage kids and their families in climate change by motivating them to take simple, measurable actions to conserve energy. Collectively, these actions, and an increased civic engagement, will make a significant impact on global warming.
Results: Raised climate change awareness in over 48,000 students and 24,000 families.
Promoted energy-wise behavior changes in families who stated they took more than 93,000 conservation actions.
Reduced carbon emissions by over 72 million lbs.
Established key public/private partnerships with The Bay Area Air Quality Management District, Marin Community Foundation, Conservation Corps North Bay, Strategic Energy Innovations, Safe Routes to School, Al Gore’s The Climate Project, Northern California Girl Scouts.
Cool the Earth has been honored to receive the Excellence Award from the California Air Resources Board and the “Clean Air” Award from Breathe California, Cool the Earth’s founder, Carleen Cullen was also the recipient of the Jefferson Award, a program of the American Institute for Public Service.
