I've been a supporter of this org for a number of years now and will continue to support them. The org seems to be run efficiently, they get a lot of deeply needed work done and seem very committed to continuing their work. I'm also a lucky companion to two super sweet dogs that I adopted through CWOB. Anytime I learn of anyone who is looking for a dog to add to their family I always recommend that they check with CWOB to learn when their next rescue trip will take place. Thanks CWOB, keep up the wonderful work.
I have followed this organization's work for several years now, donated when able and been in awe at the work they do. The work they do both sides of the border, but particularly in Mexico whereit is so badly needed is unparalleled; they have saved so many lives and helped many people keep and care for their pets. The spay and neuter is a much needed programme which will contribute to control the animal over population in Mexico. I think their education programme will make a difference in the cultural attitude towards animals, preventing the cruelty and indifference so prevalent in Mexico.
I've been a donor and have volunteered with CWOB. I can't think of a more dedicated group of people, that go above and beyond for animals in CA and Central America. They help low income families, the homeless and animals that would suffer on the streets. They do life saving work. I adore this organization and their generous spirit!
As a donor and volunteer, I can't begin to express my love and admiration that I have for this grass roots (almost solely) volunteer run nonprofit. They provide essential medical care for people that are underserved, but want the best for their pets. As if the FREE clinics are not enough, they also rescue animals at high kill shelters and even travel to Mexico offering veterinary services.
Knowing several people involved with this organization, I can honesty say they are some of the kindest people I've ever met! They give countless hours to making the world a better place for both animals & people.
Absolutely incredible work is done by this organization. Just a few minutes browsing through their site shows the true compassion they all share for animals. The name says it all. I am happy to support such a well run and organized charity.
Compassion Without Borders could also be called Compassion Without Limits! This grassroots organization has made free/low cost veterinary care available to those who need it most, thus changing the lives of countless animals and the people who love them. Their partnerships with other animal welfare organizations has saved the lives of thousands of animals. I have the highest regard for CWOB !~ Thank you!!!
This organization has impressed me with the work they do and the spirit they share. Wonderful work that deserves support.
This is an amazing organization, everything a frequent contributor to animal rescue organizations and other not-for-profits looks for when we think about where and how to contribute financially and in other ways to people/orgs doing great work. The organization is very focused with a clear mission of helping animals and helping people who love them but might not always have the resources and opportunities to give them the health care they need. It is creative: Who else would have thought of rescuing Chihuahuas in California, where they are commonplace and sadly often unwanted, and partnering with another rescue group in Minnesota, where they are relatively rare and people adopt and LOVE them! Its activities are well-planned, well-run and effective. The principals are extremely passionate, dedicated and competent. I wish every group I gave money used it as wisely as this one.
I live in Canada and I rescued two dogs from a over crowded shelter in California. I did this because of this organization and Maya and Lenard still fill our house with love to this day!
I have followed this charity for several years now and am amazed at the depth and breadth of their work. In particular, I like the "dog lifts" and also their work with charities in Eastern Europe.
Compassion Without Borders provides support for a variety of animal groups that would get help no where else.
I love everything about this organization. I first heard about Christi and Moncho and their work over 10 years ago when I adopted one of their rescues. He was an incredible friend to me for over 8 years and I am forever grateful to CWOB for bringing him into my life. Over the years I have followed their mission and their work, and they truly represent all that is good. I share their passion for animals and am happy to have donated (and will continue to donate) over the years to support their work in bringing healthcare to animals whose parents might not otherwise be able to afford care, humane euthanasia outreach and education, their spay and neuter project, and giving many sweet animals a chance at new and happy lives. Thank you Christi, Moncho and everyone at CWOB for all that you do!
I am a monthly donor and have been for several years. I have the highest admiration for Christ & Moncho Camblor. They and their volunteers work with the most neglected and unwanted animals in impoverished areas here in CA and south of the border. They give medical attention and find creative solutions to give these animals a second chance at a happy life.
Compassion Without Borders fulfills a needed place among all the nonprofits that try to save dogs which have been abandoned with out hope.
It is different because it helps dogs from Mexico which have absolutely no chance to survive.
in this respect I believe it also extends a friendly helping hand across our border.
In this way it promotes friendship with our good neighbors to the South.
It does so at a time when too much negativity is aimed at the people of Mexico.
I have been donating to CWOB for about 10 years. I am totally amazed how so much can be done for the animals in Mexico, Central Valley, Sonoma and Napa, just to name a few locations, with such limited funds. Dr. Christi, to me, is the "Mother Teresa" of animals. Her tireless efforts just amaze me. Please take a few moments to learn all that this organization does and you will also be amazed.
Compassion Without Borders is the "Mother Teresa" of Dog Rescues. I quit traveling to my beloved Mexico due to the sad and often horrific state of the animals that roam the streets throughout the cities and countryside. When I heard of this wonderful organization and their endless wonderful work they became my favorite rescue to support. I look forward to sponsoring a sweet pup every time they head south to help our neighbors who are so overwhelmed but working with CWB to develop more humane care for their animal population.
Me encantan todos los perros!
I used to own and operate a travel company specializing in travel to Mexico and Costa Rica. Over the years I found it more and more difficult to visit Mexico due to the sad deplorable condition of the animals living on the street.
I was so thrilled to discover Compassion Without Borders and their work traveling to areas and bringing such care and attention to animals in unfortunate situations.
I am a consistent donor to their organization due to the consistent care and devotion they bring to so many pets and their owners as well as so many abandoned animals in need.
Of all the non-profits I've supported over the years Compassion Without Borders is by far the most effective at truly making a difference. They make the most of every dollar and manage to do SO much for needy animals. Through their free spay/neuter and vet clinics, their Mexi-Mutt rescues, and their innovative ways of finding homes for animals without hope, they have saved countless lives. On every front they are creative at finding solutions. I'm a huge fan of CWOB.
I have been a monthly donor to CWOB for several years now and I've never regretted it. They work tirelessly to save animals not only here in our local communities but also throughout California and south of the border. My donation is directed to where the need is the greatest and they manage to save many lives on a shoestring. They cover so many bases; rescue/re-home, spay/neuter, and life-saving care, to name a few. This is by far the most effective animal rescue organization I've known and I'm proud to be a donor.
Great organization. Money goes to helping animals and when they ask for funds for a cause, they always send out an update afterwards.
I've been a supporter of this group for many years and have volunteered at a spay/neuter clinic in Juarez and adopted two meximutts from them. This is an amazing organization that does incredible work. I give them my highest recommendation.
This organization does such important work! Strays in Mexico have very little hope, and they are saving lives left and right. They can do so much with just a small donation!
CWOB is without a question the most fabulous animal rescue org. that we have ever been involved with. We have adopted 2 Meximutts and are so in love with them. We support the efforts of Christi, Moncho and all the wonderful volunteers that lead the cause both here and over the border. The work they have done is phenomenal including stopping electrocution of the poor animals is Juarez, Mexico. No one has done more to stop animal cruelty, provide education, spay and neuter clinics +++ with such little resources. They need all the help they can get to do more in California and in Mexico. There is never enough to save them all.. And of course we want to!
I have been donating to Compassion without Borders for several years now and have participated in many of their drives to save Chihuahuas from Mexico and overcrowded shelters in the state. The work they do is inspiring and as an owner of two rescued Chihuahuas thank them for helping these wonderful companions find homes and loving families.
I support CWOB monthly with a small donation. If I could give them $100 a month, or more, I would! They are the epitome of a well-run, grass roots organization. The work they do for animals also does a lot for people, not just locally, but also in Mexico. Just the work they do to help implement humane euthansia at shelters in Mexico justifies the high rating I give them. The methods used in Mexico are awful, and I'm sure they are awful for the humans as well. I love that CWB has clinics locally for low-income communities. This reduces the numbers of dogs that will end up as strays or surrendered to shelters. A person who loves their animal, but cannot afford care, must be so relieved and happy to get help from CWB to keep their animal healthy. It surely means the world to them and that is seen by the long lines of people and animals waiting to be seen at their FREE clinics. I can't say enough about CWB, every email I get from them is POSITIVE. It's not necessary to horrify people to get them to donate. I love donating to CWB because I see the positive outcomes. I'm sure there are animals they cannot help, and have to leave behind, but they process that pain and keep on going! Another wonderful thing they do, here in California, is take dogs from high-kill shelters and transfer them to shelters where they will get adopted - even flying them to out-of-state shelters! I think CWB is pretty much the #1 small, grass-roots, non-profit I could possibly support. I hope someday, when I can have my own dog, I'll be able to adopt a Meximutt from CWB. I just love what they do so much!
