I worked at Community Housing Partnership for almost five years, and grow my professional careen with the organization grow. I am a stronger believer of Housing is a Human Right. Community Housing Partnership’s mission is go beyond he clients security housing by helping with client achieve self-sufficiency. I am very excited to be part of CHP as part of the social change, when I hear our client’s success stories.
Having just completed my first year at CHP, I can say that it is truly an amazing place to work. The combination of talented, resourceful, and creative individuals, a solid mission and focus on clients, and and a no-drama environment where people are hard-working and dedicated to giving their best in support of a greater purpose all resonate greatly for me. Not without its external and internal challenges, CHP is committed to working in concert with community partners and City offices to change the trajectory for homeless individuals in SF and eradicate poverty as a social injustice.
Housing is a right. Community Housing Partnership embodies this belief by providing quality housing with supportive services for the formerly homeless. It is inspiring to see how many lives of our residents have changed for the better with the support of our agency. I am proud to work at an organization that is addressing homelessness in San Francisco in an empathetic, solution-centric way.
Community Housing Partnership provides high quality supportive housing and services which helps formerly homeless individuals and families stabilize and meet their goals. CHP staff are dedicated to their work and creative in their approaches. Feedback loops with clients are incorporated to continually improve services.
I've worked at CHP since 2004. CHP started as a project of the Coalition On Homelessness and Council of Community Housing Organizations about 25 years ago. I'm proud to help build on that foundation and watch residents take leadership roles in Community Organizing work. From the Janitors to the Directors, I'm also inspired by my co-workers who put in the hours to help hundreds of people exit homelessness.
This local organization is cutting edge in finding ways to house and serve individuals experiencing homelessness. Currently, they house over 1400 individuals and families who have experience homelessness and are looking to help each person reach self-sufficiency. Nationally, success in supportive housing is measured by housing retention, but Community Housing Partnership is beginning to measure success differently - they want to help its residents move beyond supportive housing to less service enriched settings. It's an honor to be a part of an organization that is not only providing a great service to SF residents, but also envisioning a new future for Supportive Housing nationally!
I was engaged on a 3-month project as interim controller and had the opportunity to know the Senior Management Team and worked closely with each member. My role was to observe and recommend the best practices to meet the expanding needs of CHP. Its noble mission is reaping rewards and recognitions. The Executive Team is sincere and loyal to CHP's mission of providing decent affordable housing to former homeless in San Francisco
I will not forget and will be supportive.
Community Housing Partnership makes a tremendous difference in the lives of the residents it serves. Their housing and services make it possible for people to move beyond homelessness and gain jobs and hope. I have interacted with CHP tenants and have been inspired by their personal tales of overcoming challenges in their lives, and the stability and *dignity* that they have gained through living in CHP buildings and participating in their programs.
At its core, Community Housing Partnership is a community-based organization that provides permanently affordable housing and essential support services for some of the most disadvantaged single adults and families living in San Francisco. I have worked with CHP staff over the past five years, and I am always impressed by their hard work, thoughtfulness and dedication to serving formerly homeless men, women and children in their portfolio of supportive housing properties.
Community Housing Partnership is an amazing organization that reaches people who might otherwise have no options for housing or support. Community Housing Partnership combines the tangible aspect of housing with the less tangible aspect of tenant services and support, melding the two to create an organization unlike any other!
I worked for CHP for 14 years, and had the unique pleasure of helping to grow the organization from an idea into a reality. I will never forget the night we bought our first building for housing - a friend and I spent the night hugging the building and rejoicing that we were now real estate holders! CHP has been real in its attempts to credate and maintain safe, permanent and affordable housing in a very expensive city, and to integrate supportive services and employment oppotunities into the housing. This has resulted in many low-income, homeless people being able to end their personal homelessness and poverty for long periods of time or forever! CHP treats homeless people and its tenants with extraordinary respect and in turn tenants have taken great pride in preserving the housing and also working as staff or helping to build the housing. CHP is a true community devlopment corporation who truly prioritizes the well-being of low-income individuals in the San Francisco area. In order to represent this well-being CHP includes tenants and homeless people in every aspect of the organization, including on the Board of Directors. I love the CHP and will forever be honored to have been a part of its wonderful history!
I have known and worked with CHP for about 15 years now. As housing and service proders I believe they serve the community at its best. Throughout the years CHP has a proven record of assisting people from the community become and stay employed and also provide a good quality place to call home. It's keping the organizations creative minds and souls that leads to such success.
Community Housing Partnership is one of the best nonprofit organizations I have encountered in my 20+ years in the sector. They have an unprecendented success rate of 98% in keeping formerly homeless people in permanent housing. The Community Housing Partnership also demonstrates incredible integrity in how it uses its resources. This integrity is also evident in the advocacy and organizing work done by this amazing organization.
