Mission: The Coalition to Salute America''s Heroes, started in 2004, as a way to help the transition process for the wounded and disabled war on terror Veteran population. The organization helps to augment the support provided by the military and the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Labor.
Target demographics: veterans disabled in the war on terror
Direct beneficiaries per year: veterans from all over the United States with emergency aid
Geographic areas served: throughout the United States
Programs: The mission of the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes is to help severely-wounded veterans and families of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom recover from their injuries and illnesses, and to inspire other organizations and the general public to participate in this effort.
Through our programs of aid and assistance, the Coalition offers individual contributors, corporations and volunteers many ways to give so these veterans and their families receive what they need and deserve in return for the sacrifices they made for us.
Restoring hope to a wounded hero can take a lifetime. Rebuilding his or her life takes a commitment from all of us. You can help do both by making a direct tax-deductible contribution, an in-kind donation or by volunteering your time.
If we work together, we can succeed in our mission, and the men and women who were heroes on the battlefield can return home as heroes to their families and communities.
In 2005 when I was 1st injured my family and I struggled with bills and food and not knowing where we were going to stay after a honorable discharge but 0% from the Army. My wife and I continued to work various jobs to make ends meet. In 2008 we where fortunate enough to receive help from the Coalition to Salute Americas Heroes in which they payed our late payments on rent and utility bills that helped get us through the cold winters in Colorado. They also invited our family to attend a Road to Recovery conference which helped provide workshops and seminars to help get us back on track with sustainability for our future. Myself and my wife where both asked to be a part of a program within the Coalition to Salute Americas Heroes organization in the capacity of a call representative where we made thank you calls to our generous donor's that helped with our financial dilemma in 2005. If it was not for the Coalition to Salute Americas Heroes I don't know where we would be today. They have helped us sustain work and residency and we are very grateful that they continue to do this for many more veterans and their families. I also want to add how disheartening it is to see how some Veterans or spouses have tried to blemish this great organization after being helped themselves by them. I only pray that they will come to realize when they struggled this organization was there for them.
IT WAS SO AWESOME!!! The people, the activities, not to mention the food, it was all awesome I loved it I was truly amazed at how much I learned and how many friends I made. AND CASSIDY ROCKED THAT PERFORMANCE!
