I have been fostering for CFBR for many years and they are consistently, 100% dedicated and devoted to helping French Bulldogs and other pups in need! They stop at nothing to make sure dogs they rescue receive the utmost in care, physically and emotionally. Their adoption process is second-to-none resulting in many happily ever afters for foster dogs and adopters alike!
Chicago French Bulldog Rescue is comprised of living, caring people whose main concern is about the dog. Quality of life, joy and love and good health. I am in awe of what they do and am proud to be a volunteer.
I understand how some can become frustrated with a smaller rescue like CFBR as it takes longer than “normal” (as we are now all accustomed to a very fast paced life) at times to get a response or find fits for these specialized dogs. It’s a small group of very dedicated board members overseeing some very high need and medically fragile cases as well as the dogs that are up for adoption. I have joked that it may be easier to adopt a child from oversees than it is to adopt through any specific breed rescue. I have felt that frustration myself when trying to adopt but I understand the process now that i am on the other side as a volunteer foster home. This rescue is dedicated to taking the time to making sure each dog is mentally and physically healthy before being placed. The goal is to find the correct fit once and not have the dog uprooted more than necessary. If you haven’t heard back from someone or have not made the cut for a specific dog that you have applied for, don’t take it personally. Try again. It took me a few attempts of reaching out over a good span of time. Eventually the right fit was made.

My experiences with the founder of this rescue and everyone that is involved with the rescue has been far above the standards of what some other rescues provide. CFBR insures the best vet care and that each dog is happy and healthy before being placed for adoption. Each dog that finds their way to Mary is truly rescued in every sense of the word. The before and after pictures are testimony to that.

I am a foster volunteer for Chicago French Bulldog Rescue. I am fostering a senior french bulldog. Through the help of CFBDR , Mya (pictured below) got the best medical care including much needed dental work. She was a dog that lived in pain every day until she was rescued. The CFBDR staff is very dedicated an will assure a rescue gets all aspects of care needed...physically and socially. I donate on a monthly basis to this great rescue.
I am a volunteer, although since having a baby last year I don't get to participate as much as I would like to in helping out the rescue. I also am a donor. I know that CFBR is focused on the best interest of each and every dog they take in. They make sure every dog taken in has proper veterinary care as soon as possible. CFBR also focuses on making sure that each dog is placed in the perfect home. I think all the volunteers and donors know how special Chicago French Bulldog Rescue is and I'm more than happy to support them now and in the future.

.
I have been involved with Chicago French Bulldog Rescue for about six years. First I was just a donor & admired their work so much that I wanted to be a part of it. Seeing what these dogs looked like before and after rescue, I never doubted where my donations went. I became a volunteer and helped out in any way that I could. I was so impressed with the leadership of the rescue & my fellow volunteers. I quickly realized that these Frenchie's could only be saved with more foster homes, so our family signed up to foster. CFBR offers it's foster dogs everything possible. They take in French Bulldogs that are handicapped, seriously ill & one's that are emotionally shut down. The rescue offers everything possible to the foster dogs and there is never a time that medical care is too much. It is certain that they will absolutely receive the best care possible in CFBR. Anything & everything that any of my foster dogs needed, they received. The rescue works diligently to make sure all of the dogs in it's care, are placed in the best homes possible. As the rescue grows, I continue to be impressed with the dedication and cooperation of the group. I have volunteered with other rescues and CFBR is truly all about what is best for the dogs.
After years of fostering, we decided it was time to add another French Bulldog to our home & of course, rescue was the only option for us. We adopted an ex mill momma over a year ago. She came into rescue with a list of health issues that were all quickly tended to by he rescue. Without CFBR, I honestly do not believe that she would be alive today. I have been connected with CFBR from almost every aspect-donor, volunteer, foster home, & adopted (client served) from the rescue. As long as CFBR is around, they will have my full support.
I do a little of everything for CFBR. I started as a volunteer and jumped up to foster a dog when we were a very small rescue, maybe a year or two old. I have since been involved in many aspects of the rescue. I continue to foster and know first hand how carefully we determine behavior and address health concerns prior to making a home match. I have been involved in most puppy mill rescues since joining and have carried these babies into their first safe home and watched as they have grown to be the loving and confident dogs they were meant to be. I have conducted intakes for dogs who were loved, but couldn't be taken care of any longer by their families and who entrusted CFBR with finding a new home to love the pup. These people have trusted me, and I don't take that role lightly. I have visited the homes of volunteers and adopters to guarantee they had what it takes to meet the needs of one our dogs. I know that each of our foster-parents has a place in their heart for each foster pup they have, and all of our volunteers follow the journey of each dog that comes through rescue. We work as a team, supporting one another and our adoptive families. This is why we are careful in selecting new parents. It needs to be a match for both the dog and family.
I am a volunteer, have donated to the rescue, been a foster parent, and also have adopted 2 French Bulldogs. This is my first experience volunteering for a rescue and I can not stay enough wonderful things about all the people involved in the rescue. Mary puts her heart and soul into this rescue, and this is very apparent when you get to work with or talk to Mary. I have never met a more dedicated group of people who really have only the best interest of the dogs. The other volunteers have been very welcoming and have help me in any way they can. Cate has been a mentor to me; helping me as a new foster dog parent and volunteer.
I adopted my Frenchie back in 2010 and was inspired to volunteer for CFBR as a result. As an adoptive family and s foster family, I love how CFBR is always there for support. Whether it is advice, help, or making new friends, CFBR is always there.
Mary and her group of volunteers know what it takes to help the frenchies and they will band together to help save them!
I started as a client served and was given the gift of a beautiful French bulldog who was saved from one of the worst puppy mills around. The rescue does not leave any stone unturned and no detail is too small when picking the right home for this breed. The focus on this breed is vital given their growing popularity and the mills that are servicing this demand. As a volunteer there are so many opportunities to help and meetups to be apart to help others in this dog community. The pure willingness and joy that volunteers get from their efforts that they give freely to the rescue is proof that things are being run with the utmost integrity and care.
I began volunteering for this group a year ago, and I have been extremely impressed from the minute I was introduced to the group. The volunteers in this rescue are the most selfless, caring people who are willing to go above and beyond to help the dogs in need; it's a group that is supportive and really works well together. In this organization, the dogs' needs always come first; their health is top priority. Care is provided immediately to ensure that the dogs are in the best health when they are adopted. The foster homes also provide ultimate care for the rescued dogs and the foster parents work extremely hard to help the dogs trust people, to bring out the dogs' personalities, to teach the dogs some manners and to love them unconditionally. So, when one adopts a dog from Chicago French Bulldog Rescue, he/she is one lucky person! Not only will one receive the love and support of an amazing group of knowledgeable and caring people, he/she will also receive endless love and laughs that only a Frenchie can provide!

I have four French Bulldogs. I wanted to honor the breed that I love by helping those French Bulldogs not as fortunate as mine.
Having worked with other rescues, I was and am constantly amazed how organized, efficient and thorough this rescue is. Seldom is a rescue able to address every crucial medical concern that their foster dogs have. However because of the excellent reputation and generous donors CFBR has, we have been able to do so. What an incredible feeling it is to be able to give my fosters the medical care, love and nutrition they need and see them thrive and blossom under our care until they are placed with their forever homes. It is my pleasure to work with this group!

We love CFBR! I had never had a dog before and was a little nervous about what it would all entail. The organizers and volunteers were very thorough in matching us with our little one, guided us every step of the way, and even after a year, they continue to answer any questions we have about dog ownership. CFDR changes our lives and we couldn't be happier!!
I both volunteer for and donate to the CFBR. I have never worked with a more focused, caring group who truly make it 110% about the dogs!
When there is a need and a shout out for ANYTHING, from transportation, fostering, intake or monies needed, the incredible reaction from the volunteers and Board of Directors is remarkable!
My personal free time is limited but I am so proud to be involved with such a stellar organization!
I have driven across the country to help on a moments notice, become a temporary "bank" to get the cash to the group when our bank was closed, been involved in countless intakes, place our pups, go out on home checks and interviews and the BEST is that I have been blessed by being owned by one of their saved puppy mill stud dogs now for 5+ years!
CFBR rocks!

I have been involved with different shelters, rescues, and other dog training groups for over 10 years. The first time I met the volunteers & board of this group, I was hooked. There isn't a more caring group of people that you could meet. I ended up fostering a dog for them and was awed by the care they take in making sure that every dog that comes into their care is vetted to the fullest & completely evaluated before they enter their forever home. I'm now a lifelong volunteer because I'm so impressed by this rescue

I am a donor and volunteer for this group. I am in IN but I get updates regularly through Facebook etc and have always been proud of all the work they do. I am amazed at how quick they are to help a frenchie in need and just the love they have for these dogs. I think they do a great job placing dogs in the best homes possible and I find that very important.

CFBR has tirelessly saved countless Frenchies and placed them in loving homes. By relying on a vast network of volunteers, this non profit brings positive outcomes from less than positive situations.

My family and I have been involved with this rescue since 2013. The volunteers with CFBR are the most dedicated, honest and caring group of people you will ever meet. We mainly help with fundraising projects and know first hand that 100% of the donations go to help rescuing and pay medical expenses of the dogs. What I admire about this rescue is that they think of the dogs first, the care and love they give to every single dog that comes into their rescue is truly commendable.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I am the fundraiser for the rescue. I have a 20+ year history of working in the Chicago non-profit landscape. Fundraising, non-profits and legitimate and accurate accounting of organizations with a 501(c)3 status has been my entire career.
I would never associate myself with any organization that wasn't completely honest and forthcoming about their financials and how their money is used. We take donor stewardship very seriously. When you donate to the Chicago French Bulldog Rescue, you can be guaranteed that your donation is used to help rescue French bulldogs in need. No one is paid a salary and there is no facility, so 100% of your donation goes directly towards rescuing and vetting dogs.
The dogs come first in this organization. There are zero exceptions to this rule.
I've been a volunteer and foster home for CFBR for almost 2 years now and I have first hand experience and have seen the many puppy mill dogs that have had their freedom bought by CFBR. They come to us shut down and never having ever felt love from human hands. They have medical conditions that have never been attended to and many of them are still intact for the next person to exploit had CFBR not stepped in. CFBR spares no expense to free them and then get them the medical attention and love they so very need and most of the time their adoption fees don't even cover the expense. But that is never an issue and it never stops CFBR from doing whatever is necessary for the Frenchies. CFBR is one of the few, if not only, rescues that will pay for a dog's freedom and I hate to think of all the Frenchies that would never have found their forever homes or never will, if CFBR and their donors had not stepped up. CFBR is a family made up of many wonderful volunteers, donors and supporters and I am proud to be one of them!

I have been a volunteer with this organization for about one year. We fostered a French Bulldog that we ultimately adopted. This organization is very thorough during the interview process as it ensures that these dogs are placed perfectly in their forever homes. As many of these dogs are rescued from puppy mills, the foster families are very educated in knowing how to patiently assist these dogs in trusting humans again. This breed can have multiple health issues which can be very expensive and this organization is very honest about any issues these dogs might have when they are finally well enough to be adopted. All of the volunteers I've met are completely dedicated to this organization. They work tirelessly to rescue these dogs from horrific conditions. I can't say enough good things about CFBR.

I have never witnessed a rescue group go above and beyond as this one does! They are willing to spend the necessary funds to get these dogs what they need and adopt them out ONLY once all their medical and emotional needs are met. I would recommend adopting from this group to anyone looking to adopt a French bulldog and feel they are by far and away the best rescue out there to work with on any level!

I have assisted this organization on a number of occasions and am completely impressed every single time. Truly a professional group of volunteers that will place dogs into loving, wonderful forever homes. This is not an easy process by any means. I'm just thankful that all of the volunteers keep the dogs' best interest at heart. Great group of people with huge hearts.
