Central Scholarship made college possible for me and countless other students. I have received a grant every year of my undergraduate career thanks to the amazing generosity of this program. I cannot overstate the positive impact Central Scholarship has had on my life. Not only did that first acceptance letter I received in 2012 allow me to attend Maryland's flagship university, it also gave me the confidence to apply to many more scholarships and grants. I have received the Gilman Scholarship and PPIA Princeton JSI as well as several grants from UMD. I never would have had the strength to try had it not been for Central Scholarship; I never would have gone to Chengdu, China or Princeton University and experienced great personal growth. Thank you, Central Scholarship, for kickstarting my life. The picture is from a silly moment with my mom after Central Scholarship's 2015 Annual Student Awards Ceremony in my hometown, Baltimore.
What I like about Central Scholarship is that they believe in financial support at all levels of education. Many organizations will stop at high school seniors or college freshman, but Central Scholarship understands that as you rise in education level, funds are harder to come by. Without their help, my higher education would have been in jeopardy, and I believe they truly value helping students of all levels and backgrounds.
I have received multiple scholarships from Central Scholarship over the years and they have always been so great to me. They offer multiple financial aid opportunities and really make sure they help out a vast amount of students, like myself, that are in need and/or have shown great merit. With these scholarships, I have been able to focus on my studies and continue into graduate school where I am studying physical therapy. Someday I hope to help others with my skill sets and give back to the community the way Central Scholarship did with me.
I am grateful for all the aid I have received from Central Scholarship. I was able to continue my education without worrying about how to afford it. Thanks to the organzation help I will be the first in my family to graduate from College.
