CBD is an inspiration and a model for environmentalists. Their work is wide-ranging, tough-minded, and relentless. This is the kind of organization that gives the world hope.
I have been following the center for awhile. They keep people informed of what is really happening and tell it like it is. The center works hard to fight big corporations in court for our wildlife. I have donated and believe the money is going to help our animals and their habitats.
I encourage you to see for yourself.
This is one of my very favorite environmental organizations. They do great science and use all the available tools, from writing letters to negotiating and legal action, to attain their objectives. They have a great and well-deserved reputation for getting the facts right and for being effective. They get involved in all the most important issues. They really accomplish a lot. I am very proud to support the causes that this organization informs me about.
This is one of the few non-profit environmental organisations that takes population growth seriously, ironically, in a funny way. It distributes condoms with amusing titles. How better to get the message across that human population growth destroys habitat which in turn destroys other species, or makes them vulnerable. The the regular reports are well presented so you get the message, even if you don't have time to read the whole story. CBD really is one of my favourite organisations.
I'm a 77 y/o godless old man and the Center is the best, most consistent of all the enviro organizations I have belonged to. It is the only one that still fights population growth. The Sierra Club, Audubon, etc. have all wimped out to big donors on this issue but not the Center.
I have been a member since the beginning when we were fighting the scopes on Mt. Graham and the early threats to the San Pedro R. and I am amazed at how consistent their fight for the "wild" has been over these many years. Hope they can keep up the fight long after I'm gone. I don't know how many current members realize how much we owe to Dr, Robin Silver for the decades of support and energy he put in fighting the good fight and to keep the Center going . Thanks Kieran and thanks Robin and Dr. Bob W who is no longer among us. I'm tipping a red ale to all you good folks. Cheers, Old Jim
This organization works tirelessly for all the living beings on this planet that don't have a voice in the world. Please donate to them so that they can continue their important work, do it today, think of doing it weekly if you're able. Thank you!
Where would we be without such an organization!!!!
I have learned so very much about what endangered and protection really means. Not only fauna but flora as well...I sign so many petitions and support so many local and national and international issues because of the knowledge and timely petitions of this group!
Keep up the good work...your advice and insights are informing and activating MANY!
Respectfully, M. B.Coey

CBD does a great and wonderful work, and one that should be supported by everyone. The names says it all; it is about the absolutely necessary need of diversity in our environment. It is that which keeps life possible on our planet. Hurrah for CBD!
I've been signing online petitions through CBC as an environmentalist for a number of years now. Unquestionably I believe they are the TOP conservation organization in the U.S. (maybe in all of N. America). They seem to be sworn to protect the greatest variety of species from the smallest snail or tiny plant to large mammals. They get results. They are focused, organized, and if necessary will sue the pants off of any entity, gov't. or otherwise, in order to protect a species and it's habitat.
I firmly believe the Center For Biological Diversity is the best conservation organization in the U.S., probably N. America. And I have seen many. Why? Because it is continually willing to sue the pants off of any entity, government or otherwise, in order to protect species---and it SUCCEEDS quite a few times. And another thing, it seems to have the greatest variety of different species it seeks to protect---from small obscure snails, to largely unknown plants, to larger mammals. They ALL matter.
