I have alway loved horse, but being a city raised girl I had very few opportunities to enjoy them. In August of 2011 I read a wonderful article about a horse rescue that wasn't too far from my home and I thought "what a great way to be around horses". I went to the open house for Bright Futures Farm and met the most wonderful horses. I decided right then that I wanted to help in any way I could. Having no horse experience Bev accepted me as a volunteer without any reservations. Bev has taught me a lot about horses and the care they need. And in the little over a year I have volunteered there I have found these animals to be truly magnificant, more so than I could have imagined. The horses I work with are the permanent residents at the farm, which means they are the older horses who can no longer be ridden but are far from useless. To see the care that these horses are given by Bev is truly heart warming and very praise worty. Bev gives her heart and soul to these horses everyday and it is amazing how she continues to give. I am very proud to say that I volunteer at Bright Futures Farm and that I call Bev a friend.

Bright Futures Farm is a top notch nonprofit organization. The founder, Bev Dee's devotion to helping horses in need is inspiring. There are not enough words to describe the dedication and love she provides to the horses. I have been involved in many aspects of BBF - volunteering, fostering and pulling horses out of dire situations to name a few. BBF has truly made a difference in the lives of so many horses and placed them in loving homes. If Bev could save them all she would! I am proud to be associated with such a fine organization.

I started volunteer work a little over a year ago at Bright Futures Farm. This to most amazing place, full of love, laughter and sometime tears, but so very fulfilling. Bev is the biggest hearted person I have ever met. She has devoted her life to these wonderful animals, providing a loving home for them to live out their remaining years. I hope and pray for many more years for this great farm.

My daughter and I volunteer at Bright Futures Farm (BFF) as often as we are able to. Miss Bev is an utter inspiration. Her devotion and dedication to providing the best possible facility and care for the beautiful souls that are in in her care is awe inspiring. My only regret is that we can not do more to help her out. It is astounding just how hard she works on a daily basis for the horses in her care. Not to mention how she helps other organizations through networking to find homes for their horses, or transportation as needed, or foster care for those in transit as well. With Miss Bev the horses are guaranteed a forever place to live out their days, knowing love, tenderness, caring and devotion, most of which never knew existed prior to her having them. Unfortunately society as a whole/majority has become a disposable society, Once things "wear out" or can no longer do the job they originally do are thrown away as you would garbage. Miss Bev knows and is proving the worth of all the horses in her care, even if all they can do is return the love they are given. I truly hope that BFF, via Miss Bev, is around for a long, long time and that others learn from her example.

My Daughter and I help out Miss Bev when we can and I must say that in the 20+ years I worked in the horse industry I never saw a barn/farm as well run and maintained and animals as happy and healthy as those that are with Miss Bev. We are happy to help out when and where we can, and in doing so I am hoping that I am teaching my daughter with the help of Miss Bev that it is always better to give than to receive. By giving our time and my skills I hope to see Miss Bev and Bright Futures Farm, continue on their mission for many years to come.

This summer, my family and I had the opportunity to foster some of Bright Futures Farm's adoptable and permanent residents. This was truly one of the best decisions we have made and I can only hope to be able to do so again in the future. Bev works so hard to care for these magnificent animals and it truly was an honor to be entrusted with some of her geldings. She is extremely knowledgable in what she does and I feel as though I learned a lot from her in the months that we fostered. Her horses are very well cared for, and there is a passion for what she does that is truly inspiring and also humbling. I speak highly of this non-profit often -- really, to anyone who will listen, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a way to make a difference with these beautiful creatures.

I have known Bev Dee, the woman who founded Bright Futures Farm, for my entire life. When I hear the word integrity, I immediately think of Bev. Bev has the utmost integrity; she is generous beyond words; she is selfless; and she is the most credible person I have ever met. Bev founded Bright Futures Farm in 2000 after she found out about the dark side of Thoroughbred racing. Bright Futures Farm has been saving horses for the past twelve years and is one of only two facilities in the country that actively take elder stallions as permanent residents. Even with a full plate, caring for her elder parents, working close to full time, caring for the elder horses at Bright Futures Farm (the eldest is 35 years of age) AND having to locate a new facility to call home, Bev has still made time to fulfill a dying friend's wish and has recently created a foundation in her honor. Bev was able to launch that foundation on her friend's birthday, 11/24/12 with the help of a wonderfully generous designer, Laura Martin. Bev has taken in the horses no one else wants and provided them with a forever home and the care they need to stay healthy. To Bev, old does not equate to skinny. Old just means they need more attention, and at Bright Futures Farm, that is exactly what they get. Bright Futures Farm has earned the recognition of being a top-rated non profit! Sincerely, Dawn Hamilton

I have nothing but the utmost respect for Bright Futures Farm and the owner/creator, Bev. She is an amzing person that is incredibly inspirational with all that she does for th sake of these animals. I have adopted the horse that has truly become one of my best friends. He was an ex-racehorse that did not prove himself a racetrack winner so he was to be shipped off to his death until he was rescued by Bright Futures Farm who saw his amazing potential. Bright Futures Farm is a wonderful rescue where I have not only found my dream horse but was also helped tremendously when trying to rescue another horse that was about to suffer the same fate had nothing been done. She found an adopter for him right away and he now has a happy life which could not have been possible without Bright Futures Farm. I would be more than happy to continue to help out there anytime!

I became a foster for a horse Bright Futures Farm and I worked together to save from going to slaughter. Bev has been nothing but supportive and a wonderful person to deal with through the entire experience. She has such a great heart and works so hard at what she does. Belle came to live with us back in Jan. of 2010. We brought her back to great health, spent time with her and enjoyed her as part of our family of horses until we could find a suitable home for her. We did just that. In the later part of 2010, Belle found her forever home, and what a great home it is. Bright Futures Farm and my family saved a life of a horse and secured her future. And what a feeling that is!!! I recommend Bright Futures Farm to ANYONE who is looking to help an animal in need. Bev is truly an angel!!!

We adopted an ex-racer named Envious or "Envy". She was full of energy when she first arrived and ran circles around our other horses. She settled in before long and turned out to be a wonderful horse. She is currently being ridden by a young girl in amateur competitions.

We found the people at Bright Futures Farm to be responsive and easy to work with.

They take in horses at the worst and on their last leg. Mare' in foal and then take care of those two to the best of her ability. The entire team over there is dedicated to the welfare and rebuilding the trust and faith in humans that their former humans. Beat out of them or just starved tjem. Ythis all done with donations and wonderful gifts from other horse lovers. This would go so far it could help another ten unwanted horses from going to slaughter.

Bright Futures Farm does amazing things to help rescue horses. Bev will drive hundreds of miles from her barn to get a horse that needs a new home to avoid being slaughtered for food, or euthanized because no one wants it. There is a lot of work involved to maintain a web site, and screen potential adopters so the horse doesn't go from one bad place to another. I have never met anyone like Bev who cares so much for animals and has dedicated her life to help and protect them.

Bright Futures Farm saves equines and othjer animals that would not have a chance at a better life without Bev. She has established relationships with race track people so that they call her to save a horse insteasd of sending them to slaughter.

This is the best place for "unwanted" animals. Bev takes these animals and gives them hope. She makes the horses feel needed and wanted again. She is awesome.

Bev Dee, The founder and mainstay of Bright Futures Farm is amazing. She puts her charges comfort and their needs before her own. She not only rescues and cares for horses, but she rescues cats and dogs as well. She is tireless and cares for them 24/7 many days all alone. Bright Futures is in a very rural area and there are few volunteers.
I asked her to check out a situation in NY for me, I was 10 hours away from where the horses were and she made time to go and check them
out for me.

We were considering getting horses of our own and wanted to gain knowledge and experience with them before we adopted. We volunteered to work on the farm and have learned loads of valuable information. Bev is very knowledgeable about horses and their care and so very dedicated to making their every moment better than the last. She is patient and loving and above all competent and very careful with every decision made regarding each horse individually.

Bev goes above and beyond for the horses she takes under her wing. From saving, transporting, caring, evaluating, training to adoption. Nothing is forced, rushed or done in any other way than the right way. Bev holds herself and all of the people she works with to the highest standards.

Bev at Bright Futures Farm is extremely very dedicated to the mission of giving horses a second chance. She inspires those around her to make a difference to those animals deemed "disposable" but not limited to the racing community. These magnificant animals often go on to lead productive lives with new owners.

Bev D = Bev "Dedication" Not only does she provide fantastic care for her charges, she has particular standards her volunteers and fosters must meet (or she'll teach these standards). Bev inspires passion for her cause and willfully shares her expectations, goals and the journey to accomplishing these tasks. This compassionate person also puts countless time and effort into assisting and networking with other rescues and individuals on top of everything she must do to maintain BFF. Bev is as dedicated as any person I've ever met and I only hope there are others willing to follow in her hoof prints.

I have been working with Bright Futures Farm for the past 7 years and it is a wonderful organization. My family and I have helped to care for and re-home several horses and have even adopted three. Bev takes great care in making good matches between the horses and theirprospective adoptors. Her care and concern do not end after placement either. One of the horses we adopted required extensive medical care including multiple surgeries and hospitalizations resulting in a $15,000+ veterinary bill and Bev has worked with us extensively to organize fundraisers and raise the money needed to save his life. She is a wonderful person doing some great work helping these horses.
