Mission: Bill Foundation (The Bill Memorial Foundation) was created after the founders, Jo and Peter Forman lost their beloved golden lab Bill to cancer. They have to date saved over 2000 dogs from being destroyed and placed them in loving homes. All donations go directly to rescuing and caring for the dogs.
Results: On average, Bill Foundation places a dog into a permanent loving home every other day. We have rescued, cared for and placed thousands of dogs. Once we rescue a dog, we are committed to that dog's welfare for life.
Target demographics: pet orphans
Direct beneficiaries per year: 135 dogs and hundreds of families in their search for a rescued animal
Geographic areas served: Southern California
Programs: rescue and care of animals at risk of euthanasia and their placement into permanent safe homes as companion animals to loving families.
We adopted 2 dogs and have fostered 3 for this incredible organization. One dog, Minnie, is a therapy dog who visits the Jewish Home for the Aging and does Skirball Hospice work with her owner as well. 2 of the 3 fosters have found forever homes and the 3rd foster is being rehabilitated and will find his forever home soon. We can't say enough good things about the Bill Foundation.

I recently began fostering a dog through the Bill Foundation after my old dog passed away. I've found them to be responsive, supportive, and helpful throughout the process. The application for fostering is the same as for adoption and I found it to be pretty standard for what various rescue foundations in Los Angeles require.
Everyone that I've worked with thus far has been helpful and friendly. I'm looking forward to continuing to volunteer with them and find forever homes for some very sweet dogs.
