Several months ago I had to put my 13 1/2 yr. old Boxer to sleep. I was devastated and knew I was not ready to get another dog. I looked into other rescue operations, but was so impressed with Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Inc., and their appreciation of their volunteers. They do not demand your time, and appreciate any time that you can give to help them and the dogs (especially the dogs). Lauree Simmons, the owner, is amazing, she gets down and dirty like the rest of us. Sindy. Tracy and Lori are in charge of the events, and they do an amazing job, they do whatever they can do to bring dogs to the public in hopes of the dogs finding their forever home. I am happy to assist with events and whatever is needed at the ranch. I have been a volunteer since June of 2017 and so honored to be a part of this wonderful organization.
Not only am I able to help this organization, but they have no idea how much they have helped me.
Thank you so much for all that you do!!!!!
What an amazing rescue organization lead by Lauree Simmons that provides furever homes to SO many dogs. They also take in many dogs needing medical attention that other rescues do not - giving them the chance for a happy life that they deserve. My wife and I have been volunteers for over 3 years and see first hand all of the amazing things BDRR does. They are always looking for volunteers to help with adoption events, fostering, or even simply coming to BDRR in Loxahatchee to walk and play with the dogs. Adopt Don't Shop!
I have been volunteering for many years. The thing that impresses me most is the care and concern and love for all the dogs from everyone connected to Big Dog Ranch.
BDRR is a charity that is committed to saving lives! Your donation gives an 100% return- all the donations and volunteer work are completely utilized to save the dogs they work for!
Below is a dog rescued from a hoarding situation. With love, care, and patience, and the right owner his life is a joyful one now while he brings great joy to his new owner!
I have adopted 3 dogs from Big Dog Ranch Rescue and have fostered over 200 plus. This is one great organization! I love to volunteer there and donate too. BDRR is top rated!
Big Dog Ranch Rescue is an outstanding organization! They are the largest No-Kill Shelter in the Southeastern United States. This organization saves dogs that most shelters would put down. I fostered a Dog for them that was surrendered to Pinellas County Animal Services, who called Big Dog to take this 180 lb Great Dane because they didn't have a kennel big enough for him. Big Dog responded immediately. He was out of the pound the same day.
One walk through this amazing facility is all it takes to see how hard every hand works to show ❤️ To innocent animals. Unconditional love !
They also save small dogs! I have fostered many small senior hospice dogs. BDRR does everything to make sure their end of life care is exceptional.
Everyone is so kind and the dogs are truly taken care of.
I have been a volunteer, & foster mum with Big Dog for over 4 years now. Everyone at the Ranch is so passionate about what they do,and always give the dogs 100% . I had personally had so many fosters that had some major surgeries done, or in need of medications on a daily basis. Big Dog Ranch goes above and beyond for any dog they can help. Being a volunteer & foster parent has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done, to see the joy on the face of a new foster I bring home to a safe place to run and play is priceless. I can't say enough good things about all the staff, volunteers & of course Lauree Simmons without them thousands of dogs would never have found a forever home to feel safe & loved in.
My mother, daughter and I have volunteered at BDRR for the past 5 years. It is one of the most dedicated groups I've ever worked with. The President has an amazing vision for the organization and does an excellent job of executing to make the vision a reality.
The dogs are treated wonderfully. From the time they are picked up or received to the time they are sent to the furever homes, the dogs are well cared for, shown love and given any and all medical treatment that they need.
The organization has an amazing reputation in the community. I am very proud to be a volunteer here.
The organization has also helped my daughter find her passion. She loves animals and through volunteering at the ranch, has learned how to organize supply drives, do fundraising and use every opportunity to tell their story and increase awareness. Her growth from 8-13 has been amazing and the support from the people at BDRR has been a big part of it.
My daughter, 10, and I started volunteering at BDRR about a year ago. We go once a week after school. It is a wonderful experience. Everyone who works there truly cares about every single dog there. I'm amazed at how they know all their names. They put us to work walking, bathing, cleaning. I truly enjoy doing this with my daughter. We are both so happy when a dog that we've been caring for is adopted.
This is "OAKLEY" She was a result of what Puppy Mills get away with it in our Country. She was owned by Bailey n Kelsey Thompson. AKA Remington Danes, of Arcadia Fl.
I offered to foster her through Big Dog Rescue in Fl. (7/15) After the puppy mill raid.
Oakley was around 2 years of age and had never been indoors. She with over 100 Danes had been kept in outdoor pens where they were mated and had liter after liter.
Oakley was special and adapted quickly to domestic life. She did not like the outdoors or rain. She loved the fact that she escaped her abuse.
Not long after agreeing to foster this precious girl, I realised that Big Dog Rescue was in unethical relations with the owners if the puppy mill.
Against everything that I have stood for in 12 years of Dane rescue, many threatening emails and calls from their board of directors, threatening legal action, I drove to Orlando and returned her to a representative they sent to meet me.
I have rescued many Danes in all kinds of conditions, this particular rescue, due to the outcome, will always and forever eat at my heart.
I fel in love with the ranch after adopting my dog in 2012. I have since volunteered a few times at the ranch and have felt so grateful each time. It's hard to beat hanging out with incredible dogs and getting to call it "volunteering"
Was looking for a perfect pup for our family and bdrr allowed us to find her. We couldn't be happier with our baby
Amazing organization, here it's all about the DOGS! The staff and facility are top rate! I have adopted twice from BDRR and have become their number one fan and frequent volunteer. Love, love, love Big Dog Ranch Rescue!
I adopted my dog from Big Dog Ranch Rescue, and the entire adoption process was a joy! Our relationship with the ranch didn't end when we took our pup home, it continued to grow as they would follow up to see how the pup was doing in his new home. I have since volunteered at the ranch for the last 5 years and I truly admire the passion that all the staff and volunteers possess. They are making a big difference in saving lives and I'm excited that they will be expanding into their new facility soon. I've watched BDRR grow into an incredible organization and I'm proud to be a part of it.
Five years ago, I walked inside BDRR and my life was changed. My intent was to teach my son about the less fortunate and play with some puppies. Little did I know, how much it was to be a part of my life. Big Dog Ranch Rescue not only saves the lives of innocent dogs but also strives to make the community a better place. I have adopted 2 dogs, 1 hospice foster and fostered over a hundred dogs. The dogs are given the best care during their stay while waiting for a forever home. Big Dog Ranch Rescue is by far a leader in it's class. I can not recommend this rescue enough!
They provide desperately needed forever homes for homeless and abandoned dogs. This rescue saves thousands of unwanted dogs and puppies every year from high kill shelters and do their utmost to find them good homes where they will thrive. The staff is caring and the place is small but is spotless. They constantly have creative fundraisers and have a huge outreach of volunteers from all the surrounding communities.
I have been volunteering with Big Dog Ranch Rescue for several years, and I adopted several of my four-legged family members from BDRR. There is such a love and dedication to saving dogs and finding them wonderful homes. Big Dog Ranch Rescue goes above and beyond in its efforts to save as many dogs as possible, including dogs with significant injuries, heartworm disease and seniors. I cannot think of a better way to spend my time than helping this great organization save more lives.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue is just an amazing place. Dogs who find their way to the safety of the Ranch are very lucky. All dogs receive love, medical care, and a dedicated commitment from the Staff to find them a forever home! All dogs get the chance to romp and play with their friends in fenced pastures. If they need extra training, they get that, too! The rewards of spending time with the dogs, walking them, and loving them is truly a rewarding gift!
I have been volunteering every Sunday, for the past year and half, at the ranch. I am so impressed with how all the dogs are cared for and loved; and how hard the staff and volunteers work to make sure of this. Dogs of all sizes, ages, health conditions, abused, etc are taken in, and all given the support, love and medical treatment that is needed. If you are looking for a best friend - The Big/Little Dog Ranch is the place to go! Thank you to everyone at the Ranch that makes it a safe and loving home until they go to their "furrever"home!
