Bhumi is one organization that addresses the main problems in development of India,"EDUCATION FOR THE POOR".The drive carried out by Bhumi is so good that it reaches even the remote villages. My Experience recent experience with Bhumi is when I went for a Inauguration of Computer center in a remote village that located nearly 80 Kms from Chennai and you can hardly reach the place by a public transport. One thing that moved me was Bhumi had setup a well equiped computer center where getting a electricity connection is a big deal. The students had a lot of zeal and interest for learning and am sure they will reach horizons. One thing that struck my mind when I left the place is that "BHUMI IS DOING A GREAT JOB FOR A NOBLE CAUSE AND I MUST DO MY BEST TO HELP IT"
There is a famous saying in Tamil that "Its better to construct one school rather than to construct hundred temples" People here in Bhumi knows the value of education and the impact that can create in a man's life. I hope thats why they had chosen this path of educating the future pillars of India. Though i am not a volunteer in this, Most of my friends are working actively in this task.
Hi, I work for a MNC and as a part of our Social Responsibility, we have decided to adopt a Government School and help the students and staff from this school in ways that was possible to us. We have conducted many activities in school with help of Bhumi providing us with the necessary directions. Bhumi has provided us with the strongest support for one of our Key initiative in the School – Spoken English Classes for students. When we decided to coach the School Students in Spoken English (Students where from Tamil Medium and could barely be able to converse in English), we have not idea on how to materialize the plan. Some of our volunteers, who were also part of Bhumi’s other programs like Kanini, helped us get in touch with Bhumi’s MAD volunteers. Bhumi from then onwards has taken the responsibility to see that our volunteers has sufficient training to conduct these classes in the school and also see that we have training material which they tailor make for our students. Their course is designed in such appealing way that both students and our volunteers are more raring to go for the classes. Together Bhumi have been the best guiding path for us and our programs. We are now in our second year in this initiative and Bhumi has been steadily supporting us. We are much grateful of Bhumi to have not only spread across such wonderful initiative to see a bright future for India but also helping out other NGO and Corporate Social Groups in realizing their dreams. We expect Bhumi to come up with more such Ideas to enhance the Next Generation and also providing strong support to other CSR’s.
I know some of my friends who work for Bhumi and the things they've done through this organization are exemplary at best. It is heartening to see such noble acts to protect the innocents being done by college students and the elderly like at times when we are "supposedly" getting more distant and self centered. Keep up the good work Bhumi and continue to do the human race proud.
one of the most important things that plays a vital and integral part in the development of a child is direction and guidance. generally it is the parents duty to ensure that the child has direction in his/her life so that they may stick to the straight and narrow and not drift to the darker lesser popular paths . but our society has become such that there are many who unfortunately do not have the love , warmth and guidance of parents due to certain circumstances and this is where great efforts like Bhumi come into play . making sure that these children have a solid foundation to build a blossoming future on . Hats off to the founders and kindhearted volunteers behind the scenes of this organization for all their compassion and dedication that gives hope to so many of the nations parent less. Bhumi has been doing a fabulous job for the last couple of years and i do hope that their light will not fade from those in need !!!
my friends are part bhumi.....and i do admire their contribution to the well being of those innocent souls....for a brighter future.....keep up the good work........
I am glad to tell that my sister is a member of bhumi.. Bhumi is a really very good organisation.. only few of them will have the intention of helping others. Its really great to see bhumi and there members..
i haven been an active member of the organisation , but have heard a lot about it. it is a very good organisation which is doing a lot for under privileged children
Even though i have not actively participated in the events of Bhumi, i can vouch for the services rendered by Bhumi for the society in general and humanity in particular. NGOs such as Bhumi play a vital part for the needy. Thats the way essentially Bhumi has grown. As the saying goes 'Service to humanity is service to God', Bhumi's work is highly commendable. I wish Bhumi all the very best in its future endeavors.
I came to know Bhumi through my niece. In a country like India, where millions of underprivileged and unprivileged children who didn't have even one square meal, taking care of them and to educate them is a herculean task for any Govt which has to be supported by the NGOs like Bhumi.
I am with Bhumi for the past 3 months. Its one organisation in which all the volunteer youths of chennai are made work towards building a society full of people with knowledge and not just degrees.Learning and teaching through fun is the main platform on which we work.Apart form helping kids it also extends its branch on planting and maintaining a green environment .Its been a wonderful experience working with bhumi.Proud say "Am a Bhumian!!"
I keep getting updates on the various social initiatives and feel great. I came to know about this through Teach India but unfortunately was not selected as an active volunteer, it would have been even more fulfilling in case I would have been one of them.
I came across Bhumi through a friend who was an active member of Bhumi.I was astonished by the unique initiative taken by them to educate the under privileged children through various interesting techniques.Present youth through Bhumi are able to be socially inclined and have the urge to give something back to the society. Kudos to Bhumi and i hope they continue this with the same spirit-forever!
My daughter volunteers with BHUMI and I've been following the organisation's footsteps with great interest. I find BHUMI's commitment to the cause outstanding and worthy of appreciation.
As a MAD volunteer, I do hear a lot about Bhumi and their work and have interacted with it's volunteers countless times. Though I've never had the chance to get involved with Bhumi at Chennai itself, I'm hoping the opportunity will materialise soon enough. Cheers! :)
I truly appreciate in whatever Bhumi doing.. especially arranging for Blood donatition camps .. the speed is truly amazing. So I wish Bhumi for the bright future.

Hi, This is one of the very few NGO which has lot of youth's are volunteering for the social projects. It is very inspiring to see these young minds at action. Congrats BHUMI keeeeeeeep going....
I heard about Bhumi from friends who are volunteers, and have followed Bhumi's activities since then. I find the entire team very motivated and committed to making a meaningful contribution towards change.
It is great to hear about young students and professionals joining hands to help the environment and children as well as take up so many educational projects. Bhumi has done a lot for the society and has also won many literary awards.I think it is only about time that Bhumi will achieve its goal of changing today and tomorrow. Good luck Bhumi
BHOOMI! i came to know of the organization through my friends who were volunteers in it. within months that they joined, i was as interested in their activities as they were. the thing that impresses me most about Bhoomi is the kind of people they are reaching out to. the destitutes, children, who usually don't get the education and opportunities that normal children do. the fact that Bhoomi lays its focus on them, is to be appreciated. though i've not been an active member of the organization, i am really happy with the way they conduct their activities. one of their activities that caught my attention was their program to educate young children, impart the young boys and girls with the knowledge of math, science and English through volunteers who are generally school and college students themselves. i have personally seen the rapport that the students share with their teachers. it is, indeed, a commendable initiative. Kudos to Bhoomi for the good that they have done, and best of luck for all their future endeavors!
