After finding my breast cancer (IDC) myself (it never showed on mammograms ) and undergoing 2 surgeries .... I found the Annie Appleseed Project site through a breast cancer Facebook group. I have learned so much from the invaluable resources, serious studies from around the world, my whole understanding of recovery has grown, and I am becoming even healthier than before, through food, exercise, and becoming empowered to ask clear questions of my medical team. Grateful, grateful, grateful.
As a breast cancer survivor who has done extensive research in the area, I was immediately impressed that Annie Appleseed (AA) was actually looking away from the chemo/radiation/tamoxifen route of "conventional medicine" with all it's horrific side effects, and instead looking at how to heal BC through health brought about by nutrition and exercise. My many years of research into this area (like my life depended on it) made it simple for me to recognize that here was a nonprofit that had done it's homework. I believe we will look back one day in disbelief at our current standard of care. Organizations like AA will be the reason. Kudos!
The Annie Appleseed Project is a great resource. The website provides lots of information regarding complementary and alternative care and really helps to educate patients in this space. I've attended the annual conference as well and was pleasantly surprised at the blend of traditional western medical research presented, along with the plethora of CAM therapies.
Annie Appleseed conference is so invigorating, as like minded people gather to exchange ideas and learn from the latest in complimentary treatments for cancer. I met some wonderful people when I was able to attend. Great information and I highly recommend this project!
I loved be around like-minded folks looking to live a healthier life, looking for a more gentle way to treat their body while living with cancer. I especially liked learning about new protocols that are available. My one problem is my limited income, as I'm living on a disability income and couldn't buy all the wonderful items brought to my attention by the vendors. Luckily for me, I did receive a scholarship to attend and had family financial help in getting to Florida for this conference.
Thank you to all donors who made my scholarship possible!
First heard of Annie Appleseed Project after being diagnosed with cervical cancer 6 years ago and sought out alternative healthy living. A friend recommended the site and I've been following ever since! They post everything from clinical treatment findings to alternative eating habits for healthy living.
I am a two-time cancer survivor and I have learned more from the Annie Appleseed Project about cancer prevention than all of my doctor's visits combined! Conventional medicine does not address prevention. This amazing organization does a wonderful job filling that void!
I recently attended an Annie Appleseed project event in NYC. I found this to be a eye opening event that will change my life as a cancer survivor and thriver. The organization provided several guest speakers from many aspects of cancer in ones life. The speakers were excellent and there was dead silence in the room as they spoke to educate us on this terrible disease. In addition they provided Reki sessions and several vendors with natural products. Lunch was provided and it was all organic which was a plus with all ingredients listed. This was also an excellent opportunity to network and meet other survivors. Thank you Annie Appleseed.
I am happy to offer an opinion on Annie Appleseed because they're a great group of people trying to help those with the biggest challenges. They offer nutritional advice and information that is well researched and helpful. I have sent their information and FB posts to family members who are fighting (and winning) the cancer battle in order to boos their repertoire of tools to use. I think they're doing a great job of getting pertinent and alternative/holistic information out there!
The 4th Annual Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Cancer Therapies Conference organized by Annie Appleseed Project was one of the best organized and informative conferences I've ever attended. Speakers from all over the world presented and the information they imparted was eye-opening. While there's no magic bullet for cancer, as everyone responds differently to any given drug or approach, there are options out there, in combination and tailored to the individual, that are commonplace in Europe. Some of these approaches are available in a limited way in the U.S., some are not. If knowledge is power, I left the conference feeling more empowered. The conference is a testament to Annie Appleseed Project founder Ann Fonfa's dedication to providing people with cancer with the knowledge to make informed health care choices. Not only did I learn about cancer therapies and paradigms, I learned what I can do to be the healthiest me I can be.
Annie Appleseed is one of the most informed and concise sources of information about CAM & cancer on the web. I always know that the information contained in their pages is correct and up to date, which is of utmost concern when culling information from the web.
The annual CAM conference is amazing with a wealth of information and speakers on a multitude of subjects. It's an absolute must for anyone who has had cancer or knows someone who has.
Ann Fonfa has done so much to help others who have cancer. She is truly a visionary and through her experience of fighting and beating cancer with alternative therapies she has inspired others to follow her path. She spoke at our Head and Neck Cancer Seminar in Palm Beach County, Florida this past December and we have had overwhelming positive responses to her lecture.
Ann has a gentle and caring spirit about her. She personally responded to all e-mails and was offering help to us from the moment I contacted her. Her organization went up and above in donating time, supplies and a wealth of knowledge in making our seminar successful. She is extremely knowledgeable in nutrition and CAM therapies. I don’t believe anyone walked away from her lecture without taking something new and valuable from it. Her information serves not only those who have/had cancer but everyone in the room. She addressed several ways of prevention for those who have never had cancer.
I would like to see her organization win this award. I am sure that she would use the money to further educate those with cancer along with those in remission on nutritional and educational breakthroughs.

I have known Ann for many years and applaud her work with Annie Appleseed. She provides information that is of tremendous help and hope for breast cancer patients. Additionally, the information Ann disseminates is valuable to those who have not had cancer. Prevention by using products that are healthy rather than harmful is a service to the general public as well as to cancer survivors.
I commend Ann and the Annie Appleseed Project on the dedication to patient rights and the continued effort each year to bring the C.A.M. conference to South Florida. We are so fortunate to have your non-profit working on our behalf, THANK YOU! P. Shaw, Fort Lauderdale
